Quite happy with this to be honest. Still putting in decent metres in a more intense competition and gives us a bit of leadership we've been missing for quite a while. Nowhere near the level we've seen from him in the past but won't need to be doing 70-80 minutes like he used to anyway. Will do the younger players the world of good. Saint Toppy Posted June 24, 2020 Share Posted June 24, 2020 A short term deal for the rest of this year is probably the best all round, but to be honest i'd have been quite happy if he wanted 1 more year at Saints in 2021. While he can't play 80mins anymore his experience and leadership skills will be a massive bonus for Saints come the season end big games. Roby is a good captain and well respected by all the other players but he's not that vocal on the field, and that's something Saints lack at times. I think its definitely something Saints have missed when Roby isnt on the pitch, he will do a good job for them and will cover for Thompson well.
