DavidM
I was looking back at the ARL /NRL since the early 80s , and a few teams had spells of prominence or even dominance over the term of a few years . Now , I know teams change and evolve , but I’ve just took a few GF line ups as a snapshot of those dominant teams and was wondering which do you think is the best? Just a bitta fun ... Clogiron
The 81/83 Eels side had some outstanding player's many known to follower's of the game over here from stints with British clubs: Grothe, Hunt, Laurie, Taylor, Ella, Sterling, Muggleton, Kenny, the Lidiards, Price, Linder. That's why the mid to late 80s were a golden age playing wise for the game over here, virtually every top Australian player spent a off season spell playing in our competition, not all gave it 100% admittedly but they all brought a bit of colour to the game along with the numerous Kiwis playing here. And it wasn't just the top line player's, the likes of Bruce Clark, Joe Kilroy, Geoff Robinson, Terry Webb all became favourites at their respective clubs too. Dunbar
Tough one. The Eels in the 80's were my favourite side in Australia and they have some all time greats but I think for strength overall I would go with the '98 Broncos. DavidM
You’d never guess looking at that roster that the Storm team of 2007 was half a million over the cap would you ...
