Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

Saw this on YouTube recently. Belter.

Surprised it’s on BBC1 on a Saturday evening though, I thought Wales hates RL because their best players went North. Is it the full game?

I was there! My mate had a stand ticket but I had to queue for ages to get in on the terrace behind the sticks.

Great, great game. Mind you, I spent much of the game explaining to the Taffs what was going on as they were mostly union boyos.

"No, it's only four for a try. No, really..."

Remember watching these games tucked away on some random satellite TV station. Cant recall the name, though remember they also had topless darts at is main and most popular sport on the network.

Live TV, that was it (thank google). Owned by the Mirror Group.

As an after thought the BBC agreed to show a full tournament highlights programme after the World Cup had finished. As they showed nothing other than a few live games during the tournament.

Remember feeling really excited and hopeful at the participation of teams like Fiji, South Africa, Tonga and Samoa..

L!ve TV was the actual name. I'd love to get at their archive, if it still exists, because there were a few RWC matches that the majority of fans never got to see. The Tonga v PNG game was reported as an absolute belter, for one.

That Wales v Western Samoa is being shown this weekend may indicate that the L!ve archive is still in existence, but someone on Twitter claimed he'd watched it at the time on S4C. If that's true and S4C took an option to show this one match, it doesn't mean any of the other footage survives anywhere.

Okay, scratch that one. Someone with a familiar name has uploaded that to YouTube.

A good few of the matches are on Youtube, including this one:

I watched this match and was in the tunnel with the players as they came off the field. If I remember correctly Vila Matautia had an absolute stormer of a game. He was like a man possessed. My brother and I watched the drugs testing team moving in as the players left the field and we laughed as they collared Matautia. He was so outstanding, they were bound to pick him! As far as I know he was clean.

Bump - less than an hour away.

For those outside Wales who want to watch it, you need to set your iPlayer app's region settings temporarily to BBC Wales.

Watching via an internet browser on your computer is simpler - just find the BBC1 Wales live stream.

So many familiar names on both sides. No quarter asked or given.

Fantastic game and atmosphere. Still feel Wales could be a key league nation ala new zealand! Frustrating.

The last Welsh side before the end of shamateurism, when several code-switchers returned to RU. Some of the best of them on show here.

The sand-bucket and the baggy shirts will be pressing plenty of nostalgia buttons.
