John Rhino
There is already a thread discussing the effect the promotion of Leeds Utd may have on the Rhinos Conversely what effect will the relegation of Wigan and Hull (which seems likely as of today) have on the Rugby teams? Blind side johnny
What effect did Hull KR's demotion have upon Hull City? Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Latics are appealing their points deduction so their relegation isn't definite at this moment. If that fails (due to be heard on 31st July) and they are relegated I suppose it could make them cheaper to buy and see interested parties drop out (the preferred bidder has already withdrawn). That could make it more likely that the consortium Ian Lenegan is involved in is successful and buys Latics. A lot will depend on who buys Latics and how that affects the relationship of the two clubs at the DW rather than their (possible) relegation. Wellsy4HullFC
City are just haemorrhaging support. Fans hate the Allams. They won't sell for a small deal. But no-one will offer them more than they want for a failing club. Not sure how that will impact FC.

When Hull City were successful for a short time around 12/13 years ago, a character named Paul Duffen appeared on the scene and became their chairman. The local Radio station, BBC Radio Humberside, had a live forum one evening when fans could contribute both in person at the forum and via social media. The chairperson of that forum was well known Hull City fan and Radio Humberside presenter/football commentator David Burns. The football club were on a decent roll and a lot of their fans regarded the RL club Hull FC as some kind of disabled relative that they wanted to ignore and who shouldn't be sharing "their" stadium. During the forum, David Burns read out a text from a Hull FC fan asking Paul Duffen about the KC Stadium Management Company that is, up to this day, run by whoever owns Hull City. Duffen replied "Rugby League fans can't write can they?" prompting much hilarity among the football fans gathered at the forum. David Burns, to his credit, after a long pause replied "I can't believe you just said that Mr Chairman." Hull FC....The Sons of God... Leyther_Matt
There must be plenty of people who watch both Hull FC and Hull City judging by Hull City v Bolton being moved to a Friday night the other year to avoid a clash with the Challenge Cup Final the following day.
