How do you do a high tackle cause a fight and then get a penalty...

Pitts caused the fight. McIlorum had already been penalised for a marginal high tackle. If Pitts didn’t run in, Wakefield keep the ball.

Well, Wakey definitely put more into that match than last week's although they didn't endure the injuries of last week either so that will have helped.  Had it not been for a couple of errors made in very vulnerable field positions then they may have pulled off a win but Chester must feel more encouraged by their performance even though he will be disappointed by the loss.  An enjoyable match to watch as a neutral.

The former coach of Wakefield, John Kear, said on BBC radio that he considers Catalans the second best team in the competition, after St Helens,

I agree, and I think it likely that St Helens will play Catalans at Wembley and Old Trafford..Only Wigan looks like a dark horse to challenge those top two.

It's been a good discussion, especially about the speed of the game.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

No specific countries mentioned but he’s very obviously in the pro expansion camp

Really enjoyed the red button discussion. Chappers is a superb anchor, gets the best out of the studio guests.

Totally agree, he brings out their personalities and brings a less formal atmosphere. My 8yr old won’t watch the ‘talking bits’ in sports shows but loves the NFL show he does with Osi and Jason Bell.

That NFL show is a fabulous example of how well a show can be designed to both inform new and casual viewers and to find ways to keep the veteran fans entertained without dumbing anything down.

Great 3 way banter as well.

I'll get it in 1st - normal crowd at Huddersfield !!

secondly Wakefield are poor, their forwards especially the fat one used to be barnstorming when they were a top 5 club now it' almost as if they are afraid of having the ball, can't remember last time i saw a least effective pack.

Anyway always nice to see them getting stuffed at Huddersfield 🙂

Yes he is good.  So sorry about his sad loss.

I missed the red button thing.  I invested in watching the cricket this month.  2 NRL games today and Zac got a big 200+.

I'm curious about the speed of the game comments.

It wasn't on the red button this time, but was streamed. It is available to watch anytime on the iPlayer.

I would just like to agree with the above post! The discussion pre match on the BBC is second to non these days.

The stats quoted for ball in play pre and post lockdown were amazing. Compare that to the union ball in play stats on the cross code forum

A new company has taken over the super league stats during lockdown making any comparisons pointless. They are very poor and have made a huge amount of mistakes but no one seems interested in taking them to task from the RFL.

I thought generally Wakefield were poor and Catalans switched off for a bit making Trin look a bit better than they actually ever where - their attack was flat and directionless.

I thought Innes Senior (on loan from Hudds) looked useful though - very keen and a bit of a handful, bright future for him.

...

That was what I thought.  Trinity looked less dynamic. And Catalan sometimes go to sleep if looking to win.

Re the handbags affair, I thought the first foul was from Trinity and predictably McIlorum got needlessly involved.
