Wigan Warriors attract big investor

Recommended Posts

The smart money is on an imminent takeover by a Martinez led Spanish consortium for the team,  stadium and christopher park complex.

Should not affect Wigan RFC status as existing tenants on  still very favourable terms.

Sharpeys chippie next door  ( once a gym  then restaurant etc but with good bar facilities ) at 500k not included and people close to the Warriors may be showing some interest. Would make a great and profitable  watering hole when things eventually return to normal.....

The location means it's not really viable for anything other than match days (which is why it's shut) so not sure how it could turn a profit with fewer than 20 home rugby games absolute max per year. Football fans will prefer the Athletic-owned stadium bars and the rugby already have a bar, shop, food at Robin Park. Better spending some of that money upgrading what the Warriors already have there.
