Preview Game 1

Brisbane v Penrith

Broncos: Unavailable: Jack Bird (Injured), Keenan Palasia (Injured), Alex Glenn (Injured), Tesi Niu (Injured), Tevita Pangai Jnr. (Disciplinary), Matt Lodge (Injured), Xavier Coates (Injured), Thomas Flegler (Injured), Jake Turpin (Injured), Anthony Milford (Injured), Joe Ofahengaue (Suspended)

Panthers: Unavailable: Dean Whare (Injured), Charlie Staines (Injured), Isaah Yeo (Injured)

Well the Broncos have been nothing short of woeful since the restart of this season. They come into this game on the back of yet another big loss. So reeling from that big defeat by Roosters they today take on the ladder leaders Penrith. By contrast the Panthers come into this with 11 victories in a row. They look like the real deal this season, playing top quality footy.

So a high scoring team meets a team who have conceded more points than any other team this season.

It looks like Broncos are in for another pasting. Still it's 13(17) v 13 (17) out there.

I misheard the commentator. I thought they said this was the first time these 2 had played at Suncorp since 2016. I thought that seemed wrong because Brisbane never move their home games. Turns out, these 2 have played at Suncorp every year since 2016 - twice one year because of a finals game. The weird part is that these 2 teams haven't met twice in regular rounds in a season since 2016.
