Rugby League & Art

Wasn't there a series of 'art deco' style paintings/posters that appeared on the London tube during 1930's advertising the Challenge Cup.  I heard they have been classed as  a 'collection' in their own right.

Jam Eater  1.(noun. jam eeter) A Resident of Whitehaven or Workington. Offensive.  It is now a term of abuse that both towns of West Cumbria use for each other especially at Workington/Whitehaven rugby league derby matches.

The Lowry and tube posters are great albeit generic to their type.

But Rugby League is art and is real so those attempting to capture it face a tricky task. IMO the gritty reality of this sport is something best portrayed in still photographs rather than conventional artwork.
