Tim Sheens resigns as Widnes head coach

Sean Long to Widnes from Harlequins?  Not exactly a step up. But you never know.

Would of thought he'd be in the hat for the Huddersfield job, maybe Hull.

I cannot see him leaving Rugby Union for a second division club. Huddersfield or Hull are more likely, if he’s returning to Rugby League, I’d say.

Was asked to take a 25% reduction in salary, and seems he was getting frustrated at not being able to do some of the things he wanted to hintroduce. I Half get the impression that he did not realise they are actually two very different sports, especially at elite level.

Anyhow, apparently ended up at the Rhinos.

Longy was interviewed in the Rugby Paper maybe a couple of weeks back on this.

There was another really interesting interview in the same publication recently with Martin Gleeson, seems the coaching set up at Wasps is quite different to Harlequins and Gleeson is very happy in Coventry, and pretty much able to do what he wants.

Cor how interesting a discussion about yawns monetary scallywaggery & shenanigans!

I s'pose it's not like they've not got form, but using Tim Sheens to do it is just plain wrong.

I wouldn't let shaun long manage my morning coffee order, and it's just one coffee with milk. Good assistant I would imagine but head coach seems a bit too much responsibility for him. Happy to be proven wrong though.
