  • Singleton: “I’m ready to go. I’ve been fresh after the biggest break in professional rugby I’ve had. I want to rip in to these next two months.”

After playing his first rugby league game in seven months, Brad Singleton says he is ready to ‘rip in’ for Wigan Warriors in the remaining weeks of the Betfred Super League 2020 season.

The prop forward made his debut for the Club on Friday night, as the Warriors beat Warrington at Emerald Headingley Stadium.

Speaking to Wigan TV after the game, Singleton felt he grew into the game after a lengthy spell out of the game – due to lockdown and his former club Toronto Wolfpack exiting the competition.

He said: “I just need to get out there and get some rugby into me. That start – I got put on for around 25 minutes and I couldnt even get my breath for the first 15 minutes! But, I just tried to be error free and then I built into the game and enjoyed it.

“I’m ready to go. I’ve been fresh after the biggest break in professional rugby I’ve had. I want to rip in to these next two months.”

A 76th-minute try from Liam Farrell saw Wigan snatch a late victory over the Wolves. Singleton says the way his side won the game emphasises something he has previously said about the Warriors.

“The lads were saying it was one of the fastest games they’ve been in, which makes me feel a little bit better. The standard was great.

THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS!!! 😍😍😍

“I’ve always said about Wigan – I’ve always describe them as an 80 minute side and that try by Faz showed we’re an 80 minute team.”

Hear plenty more from Brad as he talks more about his first game for the Club and explain his choice to wear a specially embroidered debut shirt for friend and Leeds Rhinos legend, Rob Burrow.
