Incorrect, I’m afraid. You’ve put Jake Connor in and completely left out James Bentley.

Looking at the two competition's Wane has probably dodged several bullet's by not playing a Ashes series, it would have been a embarrassing disaster. At least they will go into the World Cup, if it goes ahead, believing they have a chance and with ticket sales unaffected.

I know we are only theorising about a non-existent game, but I'd be interested to hear any good reason to pick George Burgess on this season's form?

George hasn't proved himself since his hip injury (not to my satisfaction, and I know I'm not alone). So why pick him at prop when there's a similar-looking bloke in great form with the same surname (and parents) at Souths?

Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

I just assumed people had got the twins confused as there’s no way that twin should be close to the side.

I know Williams is kicking well for Raiders but there is real value in the halves playing from the same club side

Whiddop and Austin I'd say start

No way would I start with Farnworth - too inexperienced - in a rubbish side as well

Mcshane over Clarke/Robey?

I look at all these sides and the real sides we pick and firstly I look 1-7 . I don’t fret much about our pack but we’re way way off behind the scrum and until we fix that we’ll compete but struggle to hurt them enough to prevail

A bit left field but it gives the likes of Whitehead/Burgess a break, gives Widdop & Williams a chance to gel and some young talent to have a look at especially in the backs where we seem to struggle.

He wouldn't get in England A team never mind the first team.

Slow, clearly his hip is knackered and doesn't look interested

Imagine George Burgess getting picked🤣 I’m a Wigan fan and the guy is absolutely jiggered. I have never seen a player look as incapable of turning out to a reasonable level as what George looks. I’m convinced there are some 50+ year olds, who go to the gym 4 times a week who could manage similar to what George has managed for us this year.

As for a serious team based on who is fit, I would go-

Tomkins

Makinson Hardaker Gildart Johnstone

Williams Gale

Walmsley Clark Thompson

Bateman Farrell Sutton

Subs

Cooper T Burgess Whitehead Lomax
