Who'd have thought it, Doctor Who was woke years before anybody knew what woke meant.

I assume he's talking about The Green Death, which I thought was an excellent story.

The latest episode 'Lux' was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it.

I think the first 2 stories have been really solid, enjoyable episodes. I'm really looking forward to The Well this weekend, rumour has it that its a sequel/prequel to a story from RTDs first spell as show runner.

Same here, I was never scared of the Daleks or Cybermen but the maggots, the spiders in Planet of the Spiders and the Drashigs in Carnival of Monsters all terrified me. In fact, Carnival of Monsters was my first DW memory, I would have been about 3 and a half years old when it aired.

If this does turn out to be the last season of Doctor Who, whether for a while or forever, it is going out on a high. The third episode of the current run was top notch.
The Well worked, er, well, as a follow on from the Tennant classic Midnight and the mystery of Mrs Flood popping up all over the place in different guises is providing plenty of opportunity for speculation as to how it will all wrap up.
I think the Doctor is trapped inside his own version of The Truman Show.
Mrs Flood referring to watching a show with 'a limited run' ending on the actual date the last episode of this series will be broadcast, considering how far in advance the episode was made, was intriguing.
With Doctor Who seasons being so short these days, we don't have long to wait to find out. I've booked to go watch the last two episodes at the cinema!
If the show does continue beyond the end of its current run, I'd be disappointed if Ncuti Gatwa doesn't stay on, as I'm really enjoying his portrayal of the Doctor, but as an actor in demand, it must be hard to commit to a show that may or may not be in production when other jobs are being offered.

Hi John, just out of interest, did you know that " The Well " was a sequel to " Midnight " before it aired, unfortunately I did, although it didn't spoil my enjoyment.

Interesting take on Mrs Flood, its almost like the Michelle Gomez cameo's in series 8, although I'm expecting a different outcome. I'll just point out though that Mrs Flood said the show ends on 24th of May, while the last episode airs a week later.

Regarding Ncuti , this is an awkward one, he finished filming DW 18 months ago, he's an actor, he can't sit around waiting for DW to start filming when he's probably got loads of offers on the table.

Anyway, I'm pleased you're enjoying this season, so am I.

I didn't know in advance, so it was a surprise while watching the episode. The penny dropped for me at the same time as it did for the Doctor. 😀

The Beeb have just announced that Ncuti Gatwa will be appearing on the Eurovision Song Contest to deliver the UK jury result, just after Graham Norton and Rylan have appeared in a Doctor Who episode titled 'The Interstellar Song Contest'. I wonder if it'll be tied into the plot? Will he be there as Ncuti, or the Doctor...? What larks. 😄

I hoped nobody would notice. I made the mistake of trying to attach a you tube video when I didn't have a clue how to do it, I ended up posting a sting of random letters and numbers which looked more like an equation of how to turn base metals into gold rather than a video.

If you just copy the web address then it should embed automatically

Odd, should work.

Well if you click on the link it takes you straight to the video, where as before there was no link, just a string of letters and numbers.

Anyway I just thought I'd show this fan made video, it takes the 3 Doctors scene from "Day of the Doctor" but adds in all the other Doctors up to and including Jodie Whittaker.

The final episode of this series " The Reality War " will air simultaneously at 7pm on BBC, Disney and in the cinema, there will be no pre transmission screening on BBC and Disney, this is probably to avoid spoilers.

Make of this what you will.

Isn’t Dr Who successful and iconic?

I don’t watch it, but I know many who love it.

I’ve not understood the talk of axing it.

As far as axing it is concerned, that's very much down to fans speculation.

As it stands now, viewing figure wise, it isn't doing that great, this series is averaging just over 3 million so far, compare that with Christopher Eccleston's first series of the reboot back in 2005, which averaged just short of 8 million, of course viewing habits have changed vastly between 2005 and now. Where it does do well is overseas sales and merchandise, its a big money earner for the beeb. Compare that with ITVs Mr Bates V The Post Office, which averaged 9.5 million viewers but looks like it made a loss because they struggled to sell it over seas.

Rumours are that Disney do not want to renew it after this season is finished, if that's the case I'm sure the beeb will try and find another partner, whether they find one is another question.

Plenty of Doctor Who fans love nothing better than a good moan about how doomed their supposedly favourite show is, and how dreadful it has become under <<insert name of latest showrunner here>>.

I don't really get that at all.

The current series has been great.

My only complaint it it isn't on for long enough, but it is very expensive to make top quality science fiction. I'd rather have 8 episodes than none.
