Man of Kent
It’s all about Ian Watson and making good use of players other clubs leave behind, isn’t it. If he stays they can look upwards, and vice versa. Watson is probably the nearest thing to a Moneyball coach in RL.
Red Willow
Think Lussick will also leave at the end of the season. Salford are used to dealing with the loss of players and I don't think this year's losses will be as big as last year.
Segovia Carpet
I think Watto will stay and at least see out his 2 more years contract. The constant rebuilding can often be a positive you know - coaches sometimes become stale and need new inputs and Watto gets those every year. They all thought without Hastings we wouldnt win a match but the Coaches have shown the moaners how wrong they can be ( Your favourite Aussie commentator for one). It`s a team effort at Salford - don`t forget Brown, Rowley & Blease all blend well and you know many players regard Salford as Up & Coming and are wanting to come to the AJB as they will be treated fairly. Oldbear
Love Watson as a coach, love Salford as a club, really hope he stays, if he does then he will find the right players, definitely a money ball coach.

meast
I like watching Salford play, they remind me of our teams under Nathan Brown, a good mix of youth, and experience, players deemed surplus to requirements or reserves at other clubs who are now excelling having been given the chance. But they also play it a bit tough and crude when they need to, as well as playing some good open rugby, they know how to grind opponents down as well. Not bad for a team, like us, who "bring nothing to the game". Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association
Dave T
They just go again. Where these finals help Salford is in their reputation as a club. It should help with recruitment and retention in that Salford can now demonstrate that they are a club who make finals and play the big games, rather than a small. Club fighting relegation every year. They are on the up. These things take time to develop, but playing in the big games is always a good thing, even if they lose. DG70
After the Koukash debacle there is a solid set up behind the scenes at Salford ie Watson, Blease, Rowley and the lifelong fan turned director King. Tbh Salford have not really missed Hastings as much as many thought they would do and again thats down to the acumen of the coaches, they are really quite an enterprising team, notice the speed of the counter attack against Leeds which led to the Williams try as an example, I think they will keep Watson for another season or two, maybe longer if they can consistently compete, as for next year, Escare and the winger from Wigan are onboard, they have got the quality of Watkins and Sarginson in the centres and I dont think they are too far away from having a truly top side if they can add some quality in the pack, maybe an Ashton Sims type forward, Salford deserve a lot of credit and respect, they have shown with or without Jackson Hastings that this season, like last, they can compete. This is really important, when you have retired your memories are not of chasing the pay checks but of playing in the big games, Salford have shown that they can offer players the chance to play in big games and would therefore be a place that players would want to be a part of, especially if they get top quality coaching as well. UTK
Not sure whether or not this is the best place to put this but I suppose it's relevant to Salford moving forward, Joey Lussick has signed a one year deal with Parramatta starting next season. I don't think we're quite there yet Dave, but if everyone starts thinking of us as top 4-5 we'll lose the sympathy vote. snapski
Interest in Watson from Hull. Not surprised. He reminds me of Powell 5 years ago. Hungry to succeed. If it happens they will be in the Grand Final at least in the next couple of years.
Red Willow
Would be really disappointed if he left for a club like Hull, Owner who interfere , will restrict the cash, seems slight better than a side ways move. Hope he holds on for a different club

Hope he holds on for a different club Hull don’t seem to have an owner who restricts the cash. I would say that they have historically overpaid for some players. Also how much does the owner really interfere? Yes he confirmed the sacking of Radford on Sky but he had given him a lot of support over a number of years

I’d be chuffed, in a way, if he was signing but he’d have to move to live in the area. The M62 is too problematic. I think it’s more true that SCR have been approached by Hull with no further comment from either club.
