Genuine question - where’s George Burgess, has he played much? Has he got a long term injury he can’t shift?

Still has the hip problem he had at Souths which makes his signing a strange decision.

I'm still not convinced by Bentley at second row for a number of reasons (think as a workhorse he would probably be better in the middle), but realistically last year Walmsley and Thompson carried our pack and last night we had neither. Fans wanting us to play the same style as Holbrook with no go forward (and in basically November now) are incredible. Theres also a collective hallucination about the style of play we had towards the playoffs last year. Last night our gameplan was fine in the first half, we just blinked first and made errors that we didnt defend.

I'm inclined to agree. Think the missed forward for the French try was poor but it wasn't the reason we lost the game and that's as much on his touchies. Admittedly i think the pass looked worse than it was as Leuluai got hit as he passed.

Ashworth's defence is horrible.

I don’t think it was a poor call. Far from it. Your last point is valid but at full speed on one look etc it was a marginal call

A lot of criticism towards Kendal for Greenwood's yellow instead of red but up until then I thought he'd had a great game. SKY reckoned first pen of the match was on 56 mins and very few stoppages. The quality and intensity was down to the game being relentless and non stop, due in part down to Kendal.

The yellow won't make any difference to Greenwood's sanction. However many matches he gets, he will get, yellow or red. Two mins from the end and it was of no consequence to the game. Two minutes into either half and it would have made a difference but that wasn't the case.

I still reckon that overall Kendal had a good influence on the game.

Yes.  And generally the players in such an intense game were pretty good.  Singleton was wrong to diss Grace, but every body was up for how big a moment that was.  And of course thats how it worked out.  Grace did not do much wrong, although what was noticeable was that Burgess did nothing wrong.

On another related news. Its funny to see Saints players moaning that Woolf is not coaching in Holbrooks alleged attacking style... but Wigan fans will be happy (for a change) for Lam to be chanelling his inner Shaun Wane.

I think all in all Kendall had a good game, it should have been a red at the end, a deliberate attack to the head,  how long left is immaterial in my view.

The question over the yellow not red needs to be aimed at Thaler, doing the video reffing, not Kendall, who got one look at it in real time. Thaler adjudged it to be a yellow rather than a red for some reason. I’d love the video refs to come over the tannoy system to announce their decision so we had more understanding of their thought process behind their decisions.

Sorry, i ended up turning off the forum all together, but the easiest way to do it for next time is:

At the top of the browser you have the name of your account , click it and go to the "ignored users" tab, click on it and you can then search the username of the person you wish to put on ignore, and then choose what you want to ignore of them, i.e. posts, dm's, signatures, etc.

The one view of the incident is the key before anyone criticises Kendall. From his position it is quite possible he had a question over whether the “tackle” glanced up off the shoulder. The VR input is another topic.

The lack of “communication” on Sky games compared to BBC ones from the VR was due to the producer on a lot of games who it was rumoured didn’t have appropriate TV language plus Sky prefer to set rather than follow

So, with no frame of reference on the screen and from the comfort of your armchair, you can see something the trained, experienced, qualified and assessed match officials can't? 😊

That statement could apply to about 97.8% of rugby league fans

Oh are we taking his post seriously.

Look I was watching the game as an independent... I have no axe to grind with either team.... discipline to me is to play within the spirit of the game and not just to how the game is refereed... at times both teams pushed too far.. in my opinion. Consequently I became frustrated with the attitude of the players who appeared more interested in winding each other up ... therefore I lost my enjoyment...

there was some good skill on show but not consistent...

had I been a fan of either team I’m sure I would have got caught up in the emotion... but I’m not and I found it petty and unnecessary and spoiled what should have been a good game...

It will be a first if somebody does.

Ok I accept that my opinion is valueless... you Seem to have found reason to dislike me... yet I have only ever been involved in reasonable forum discussion. I have never insulted anyone or their view.

If you can’t accept alternative opinions, ones which I express my views on the game in general and games in particular... and you resort to snide comment bordering on bullying then I will bid you goodbye.

I thought this was a forum for sharing opinion and discussing viewpoints... it seems I was wrong. I have reported this to the moderators and cancelled my membership of the site!

No one gets bullied off this site.

All instances of alleged bullying should be reported to moderators at the time they occur, and not responded to on here, which has the potential to make matters worse.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so long as they are expressed within the rules of the forum. In a match thread, not everyone is going to agree that a particular game was good, or bad. Enjoyment and entertainment are in the eye of the beholder.

Those who cannot handle such differences of opinion, regardless of who is expressing them, really shouldn't be engaging on a forum like this one.

If anyone suspects trolling, by anyone, that should also be reported to moderators at the time it occurs, and under no circumstances should members take to publicly accusing others of trolling, as it is not only potentially unfair, it is not your responsibility to troll-hunt. We have enough back end admin options on the forum at our disposal to do the job quite effectively, as the virtually complete absence of trolls here should indicate.

Thank you for your co-operation.
