Whats your idea then?  Just moan?

Based on a 12 team League I would have 24 (max) games with 2 Magics... one at the start of the season and one as Round24. The first based on last seasons positions and the last based on positions half way.

Play the Origin(s) roughly half way, or after the Cup Final.  (and we could play a charity game against France before the Cup Final but not selecting any Finalists)   Or one third in or two thirds in... whatever suits.

24 Rounds max, no matter what number of teams.  If 14plus have a 6 team play-off as now using Macintire System.

How many more suggestions do you want?  Or should we all just shrivell up and die?

Pardon, I thought the OP was JM2010. I was just playing, knowing he said he stepped out.

No, I’m all for less meaningful games @Rupert Prince and more meaningful ones. 12 team league, I would go the old classic top 5, but that’s another discussion.

Keen on an inter Euro rep match mid season too. I thought my Owls v Pups is daring.

I’m pretty much agreeing with your season concept, if not the exactly.

I mean rather then watching Hull V Salford 3 times...should have made that clearer..

Sorry, just realised you mean “than”, not “then”.

Yes, I agree mate. Throw in a potential cup tie and semi/final between them. The fixture loses all exclusivity playing that many times a season.

Because nobody wants to see England absolutely dick an inferior nation, like France. The average tonking we’ve give them over the last six games has been by 42 points. They’re a joke and we learn less than nothing playing them.

Let’s hope Australia don’t feel the same about playing England,it’s been a long 25yrs since the last win.

Go check the average scorelines of the games. Average of a 12 point winning margin over the last six compared with a 42 point average over the French Fancies.

That's the official name of the region

We don't always take notice of the Government, do we ?

They think Middlesbrough's in the North East so clearly they know nothing about Yorkshire.

One could wear blue and the other green and white hoops, and it could be a double header somewhere random, like Glasgow.

Nah. Surely it wouldn’t catch on in Glasgow. They don’t play league there really. It would need to be in the heartlands somewhere.

So why play them if it’s a forgone conclusion? What help does that give England when aiming to win a World Cup (as per Wane’s comments)?

“Fitting” was just tongue in cheek anyway.

As per @Davo5 said. Don’t expect to play Australia with that attitude.

The problem with trying to replicate origin in this country is that Yorkshire and Lancashire don’t hate each other.

Yeah we have a lot of banter but not much else,  we have a lot in common, we share  common “northerness”

Qld and NSW on the other hand really hate each other, Queensland can point to years of being treat as poor relations  by the Sydney  elite, who they refer to as “cockroaches” while Sydneysiders look down on Queenslanders as “banana benders”

It just doesn’t work here

Bit different comparing Tier One v Tier Two with Tier One v Tier One but yeah, great.

Doesn’t matter what name tier someone has given it, the point is that Australia v England is almost as much of a mismatch as France v England, as the results bear out. I think we should play France at least every couple of years, to give the England team a run out together and also to help France (decent crowd over there, exposure, experience for them etc). It’s our only serious option really, the Exiles is a ###### idea and there is little chance of S Hemisphere teams coming over regularly.

It’s not as much of a mismatch, the results and winning margin confirm as much.

England Rugby League are not here to help the game grow. They’re here to win tournaments.

The Exiles indeed is a rubbish idea.
