New fans?

Let's start with loads of disillusioned existing fans brought back easily 1st. In the last 20 years loads of folk have moved to these 3 areas from outside RL culture. When their friends, neighbours, colleagues start going back. They will be a good target to bring in as well.

Loads is a bit ott. At best most English Championship clubs bar Bradford are looking sub 10k crowds. That's not to say they're rubbish but if we get rid of 4.5k Wakey fans for 4.5k Halifax fans or 6k Huddersfield with 6k Leigh or 3k Salford for at best 3k Fev fans, its not a major gain.

Personally I wouldn't replace clubs, I would add these clubs on top, get some derbies going Leigh v Wigan, Bradford v Leeds, Fev v Cas. Widnes v Warrington. Wow, nice season and no loop fixtures required.

Have you not seen all the new houses been built mate, especially in Fev & ponte, there's probably thousands over last 5 years, vast majority moving in are not from RL areas.

So disillusioned fans and fans from other clubs who have moved into the area

Robert Elstone is calling the shots now on who can enter Super League and in his book disillusioned fans from years ago and fans from others clubs who have moved into the area wont tick the boxes for him.

The Super League chairman will want to keep Super League a 11 team competition as they wont want to give up some TV money to a 12th club

They’ve already stated it will be a 12 team comp next year. The Sky contract dictates so

Yeah, that's why they are giving this team who gets the nod half the money, they want them bust or bottom. They'll go for 11 or 10 teams if the broadcasters will play ball on that on the next deal.

Because it takes more than one club in a small provincial town and takes a much bigger pool of players than can just be provided by one club.

Nobody was concerned about this though until the demise of Toronto.

It's not even been a week since Toronto's demise. Wouldn't those Toronto fans here in the UK be better focusing on helpingToronto and maybe following them during the bad times in the championship or league one?

Even if Toulouse are admitted it will be miles away from the porential Toronto brought.

Again i repeat what Elstone has said about clubs have to offer something to Super League that the present clubs don't have and no club in the M62 corridor can offer that

As daft as it sounds, you can probably name 30 former amateur and junior clubs from around the Wakefield / Fev / Cas area that are no longer around.

The players for these clubs invariably used to go watch the pro games. The kids of these players used to want to emulate their dad's and play. It was all self perpetuating. This is happening throughout the 'heartlands'.

The idiocy of all the expansionist codswallop has turned the flood of junior / amateur players to a trickle and in 20 years there wont be enough players of a reasonable quality to sustain super league, and then it will be too late.

I think within 3 years at most we will have a 10 club competition and Wakefield and Castleford wont be in it unless they are playing out of better stadia than they are now

True that.

14/16 seems ideal. But funding that would cut off almost all funding for anyone below.

Got to remember that Fax attracted a crowd of nearly 25k only a couple of seasons back for a challenge cup semi final. When were the last time teams like Wakey, Huddersfield, or Hull KR did that? We are the natural choice.

Sheffield Eagles got 60,000 for a game last season, get them in.
When you were last in SL you were getting 5k+ weren’t you?

There's many many unionists down south, even many down into Cornwall even, have heard of the fame of the forever underdog Featherstone Rovers and their great feats of against the odds triumphs on the biggest stages. Don't kid yourself. Its fact.

You are Donald Trump and I claim a fiver
