Villeneuve sack Fabien Devicchi, Eddie Pettybourne taking the reins for the moment.

They looked a shambles last week.  That was down to the players 100%

VsL touted they wanted to achieve League 1 status a couple of years ago under Ellis.  All been hot air so far.

Was he sacked or did he stand down? Its his firsr season back in league after a long time away. So maybe felt left behind!

Villeneuve looked their best when Julian Rinaldi was coach, such a shame it was short lived and he went back to Australia. But we're starting to see expectations and standards go up across the board at Elite 1, Palau with a new coach and getting their first win. It really is becoming more and more competitive

Could strong performances by reserve grade players like carre, Jobe and dezaria etc force McNamara to seriously look at them as 1st team players for this coming season or even offer them a 1st team contract with 2 vacant positions?

Or is this just wishful thinking and those 2 vacant places will be taken up by some NRL nobody’s?

50 players lining-up this afternoon at Amie Giral. 42 of them French. Some Elite 1 players  will  have the added incentive of trying to make the World Cup group in October.

"It involves matters much greater than drafting the new rules...the original and existing games have their own powerful appeal to their players and public and have the sentiments which history inspires"  - Harold 'Jersey' Flegg 1933

"Just as we had been Cathars, we were treizistes, men apart."

What about that sublime touch by the St Esteve centre Maxime Jobe for Jordan Flove's second try against Carcassonne. last Saturday. A such light touch, he didn't hold ball just flicked it on - wonderful. He knew he had done something quite special there!

PS 13H39 Paul!

Any checks on the border?

ZERO I took the train from Figures to Perpignan (Once in the EU one does not have to fill in the french cover forms a second time) Perpignan to Paris now then Paris to London.

Many French in Rosas yesterday having lunch .

The UK system is actually very efficient, filled in the forms and ordered the test kits to be sent home now 10 days isolation in the countryside with plenty of work anyway and the wife is a great cook:) Had my first beer yesterday since December 31st I have a head like a bear today:)
