Things looking up at Avignon now all of a sudden. Jouffret alongside Gigot both back on home ground. Christopher father to the former Fev half back making an impact there maybe. Got a young English lad in former Warrington and Widnes prop Par Moran on board too. SOA could be dark houses in the second part of the campaign. Good to see.

A bit of topic but has anyone heard of news about the French RL targeting Monaco for development?

there is no project in monaco just one elected from the new federation. the teams which would have the best chance to go up next year are Villefranche de Rouergue, Pia see Carpentras or Salon de Provence.

USC Pro 16 played on it Friday against Rouen and are back there Friday next against Montauban. Games they need to win!

There are a few weekends vacant to cover postponed fixtures. 3rd w/e in February being one. First two weekends in March free. No Cup this year/no Magic weekend?

Pat Moran the former Warrington prop on the bench for Avignon today at Palau. Mendy is a decent forward for them. Spent some time I think with Dragons Academy and later played up at Barrow.Too early for Gigot. Captain Arnaud back in the line-up for SOA is a decent player too.

About 500 viewers today for the 2nd half.  A real shame, could have easily gotten over 1000 had it not been for the technical failures.  Many would have given up after a while and not come back.

Our League started like this and it wasn’t a quick fix.  Many, including myself said the same thing.  The quality was poor.

Very impressed with production quality of Albi broadcast yesterday especially of/for their sponsors at half time.

Yes, it was good on YouTube although a lack of any replays was a little unusual when you are used to such things. At least it was live RL, which in itself was great.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Half way house with leaders Lezignan the only side to have completed the first phase (9) having played all other sides.Their armada of ex-Dragons players and three Antipodeans plus some promising juniors make them formidable. Villeneuve (6) games alone have some catching up to do. Looks to me that the present six sides will be the ones to play finals football come May time. Avignon slow starters I think will make the mix. Jouffret, Gigot and the English lad Moran late arrivals will give them some lift. They edged it at Palau Sunday with the former Fev half back grabbing a hat-trick of tries. Six tries too in all games since his returning.

2nd placed Carcassonne with a game in hand over FCL have only played one home game so far. Their half backs will be a key for them Herrero-Lucas Albert together the best combination in the comp ?The former Dragons player is unique in that he is the youngest (22 yrs) to have returned to the Elite 1 after more than 50 games in Super League – the Dragons youngest player at 17 yrs.

Villenueve have wobbled a bit of late. Their quartet of TO players need to raise their games. They looked ordinary at home to both Carcassonne and St Gaudens. Limoux who led the 2020 competition before it was brought to a halt have been slow out of the blocks. They have to go to both the other Aude sides in the second phase too especially if we get spectators back in the Spring.

The Dragons reservers will be there or about. Interesting to see if McNamara uses some of them come Easter time. When they had Belmas, Le Cam, Joe Chan et al turned over Lezigan but without them fell short at Carcassonne. TO Elite cherished there win against Limoux and pushed St Esteve all the way at Brutus, They’re a much better outfit than passed seasons under Seb Raguin’s involvement-good to see. Albi have their moments but started badly ran-ragged at Domec by the Canaris. Their flying wing Pedrero a joy to see with his hat trick of tries last Saturday against FCL.Leaves us with the Perpignan minnows Palau. Not a win in sight but some gutsy shows at home to Carcassonne and away at St Esteve. 4 bonus points at least shows some commitment.

Carcassonne-FCL Final in late June then ?
