Sorry it was so rough on your lot. We had a lot of breaks. The head pat became a penalty after outcry over Partington patting someone’s head last year, so it was a “correct” decision. You have hit the nail on the head about line speed. We showed against Saints the other week what we were set up to do - swarm on them, wear them down, take our chances. Warrington were far more passive in defence, which lead to FC getting a roll on, and some momentum. Sneyd and Connor are terrific front foot players. I don’t think FC are far away at all, but maybe they need to weigh up the balance between big lads and mobile ones. On dry tracks and big pitches, the ball beats the man more often than not,

Keep your spirits up, the future will be fine!

Cheers Davo, although we could have had a world class half back and it wouldn't have made much difference last night, if you simply don't have time to create anything due to the opposition being in your face all the time, you ain't gonna be very effective.

And I think you're right with the week off effect, Wigan just had too much all over the park.

Maybe but with Sneyd primary a kicking 7(and very good at it) and playing a out & out running 6 it places a lot on Connor at fullback to bring the creativity to the side and makes it easier to nullify.

Well well well hull fc biggest blaggers in the league once again. Specialist in failure. Big club my @£$e. Needs a whole clear out top to bottom

Starting with you, by popular request. 😀😀😀

Back to the game: In my view, Hull managed to contain French and Farrell for quite a while.

I do wonder if too many clubs rely ob islanders.  They can be big and to an extent can be mobile with it... potentially fearsome... but their energy levels can sap alarmingly to me.

Ha.  If fans continue to blame the ref for their own failings they will never get anywhere.

That's why I distanced myself from it.

Still amusing if you accept it for what it can only be, a bit of fun.

I think, too, that Wigan had more quick-thinking players than Hull,  more players with vision of what is going on around them.

I would say that's because they had more time mate.

Hull's energy levels and thus line speed wasn't anywhere near Wigan's and allowed that.

Wigan were the better team and better coached and the club has developed better players.   But let's not get carried away. Hull had a couple of close efforts and odd bits of bad luck.  Score was a bit flattering.  But Wigan were intrinsically the better team and worth it.

Connor should have been moved to 6 at half time.  But as a club they need to find a couple of others to do some of the work for him.  The alleged dangerous back line were well marshalled by Wigan, I noticed that Bibby did not move much inside.

Total respect to Wigan they knew how to beat Hull and every player stayed on script. They do have some brilliant individuals but it was teamwork which prevailed in this game.

Hull are matching Wigan and St Helens for spending but how much brute force do you need?

Sometimes they overpower teams and when they do Sneyd is a real craftsman who does the right things at the right time. Connor is a fits and starts flat track player IMO. The balance of the team is wrong.

This year was Hull's attempt to join the top teams by spending big but they finished with 5 teams above them and 5 below. Adam Pearson told us even before COVID that they would make a big loss this year which was unsustainable.

They'll spend much less in 2021 but it probably won't hurt them too much. I see them being about halfway again.

Wigan though look to have signed really well and I expect them to be even better next year.

Currently I would put Hull on a par with Leeds and possibly Warrington.  After tonight we will adjudge how they compare to Catalan.

So they are not far away.  It's going to be interesting how the Giants do next season.

I think Wigan are the best team in the competition, which as a Wigan fan makes me happy, but I dont think that will mean they would walk away with it... I expect teams to raise their game when they play us.     I just hope they will do the same against St.Helens.

He is likely to miss the game. I agree that we should have sacked him after that incident, however.

75 to go.

Plenty of one-eyed hatred on the internet, and YouTube is no exception. You could put together a clip-show of any team's misdemeanours, but what that mainly does is throw your own hang-ups into sharp relief.

Well that's the application form for the post of Assistant Lighting Engineer at the KCOM in the bin.

Probably ended up in there about the same time as I stopped looking for enormously long selfie sticks that would reach the KCOM from Anlaby Road flyover.

Please let's not waste any of the WDL's efforts in replies to "derk" Futty mate.

I'd rather sit back and read more quality stuff of which, I've no doubt, we'll get to see soon.

Are Hull matching the spending?

I would be amazed if any Hull player is  at the same level as French and Hastings at least

While DimmestStar has mellowed somewhat, they are still a Hull KR fan and their anti Hull FC posts reflect this.

I'll be more than happy to study the wage listings at Wigan, Saints and Hull FC that they appear to have full access to.

Should make interesting reading.

It’s important to get properly warmed up at Futtock’s age. Otherwise he will pull up lame mid Just Browny riposte and miss a few pages.
