1986 John player trophy 1st round Batley 0-8. Mysons 

1987 JPT round 1 batley 18-16 Hunslet 

1988 JPT round 1 Hull FC 26-10 Batley 

1991 RT round 1 Hull FC 12-8 Batley* 

1993 RT round 2 Batley 8-6 Sheffield Eagles 

all played between 13th November and 19th November 

good job the forum/social media  wasn’t around for the first result

Hunslet and Sheffield were first division clubs meanwhile batley were third division when they visited the boulevard in 1991

Good Grief.

there was a spell in the mid to late 80s when every home game me and my dad would trudge home over the Batley cricket pitch after another 30-40 point thumping,vowing 'never ever coming down here again to watch that ######! bloody rubbish! nope,we're done!'........

 

only to be trudging back over said cricket pitch 2 weeks later.

and then repeating the exercise....

I remember going to ryedale as a kid and York played at an athletics stadium. Year after renamed wasps

'Shaw cross juniors, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Heckmondwike Panthers, Stainland Stags and then the Heavy woolen donkeys... WARDY, STOZZA, GT, KARL OR KEAR MUST OF DROPPED A DIGIT FROM MY MOBILE NUMBER! :clapping:

Which Saturday aft game featured iro running onto field with a socket spanner to reattach uprights 9 hole end?

I remember that mid season friendly for the simple reason I was flat on my back in hospital after an operation and listened to it on the HWD hospital broadcast.

yes 2002 had driven all the way up from Redditch after ringing club that morning and told that game was def on , then get up to mount and find players getting back in their cars, did wonder why it was so easy to park up 🙂

Dewsbury turned up  John Harbin and Andy fisher called it off saying they wouldn't play it didn't matter in the end as we beat them later on the year...
