And for those of you fluent in Ukrainian. Looks like Leeds, Hudds, Cas, York and Wakey are also involved

Google translate:

Sheffield Eagles becomes a partner of the Ukrainian Rugby Federation in the Ukraine Super League project!
Ukraine Super League is a project of the Ukrainian Rugby League, which in 2018 reorganized the national championship of 10 teams into 5 regional national teams, uniting them under the brands of well-known English rugby club partner clubs. The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency of popularization of our sport, improve the quality of team play and improve the organization of rugby league competitions in Ukraine.

In August 2018, UFRL President Artur Martirosyan together with 8 players of the national team of Ukraine was in Sheffield (England) at the famous rugby club Sheffield Eagles to prepare the team for the qualifying matches of the 2021 Rugby World Cup. Continuing this friendly relationship, Sheffield Eagles decided to become partners of the UFRL project. The team from Khmelnytskyi, Khmelnytskyi Eagles, became a partner club of Sheffield Eagles in Ukraine.
We wish success to Ukraine Super League and its teams in 2021, and we hope to see even more bright and high-quality rugby league in our country!

Another useful initiative.

It seems that all such ideas come from the newer clubs, rarely from established clubs or the RFL.

To be fair all five clubs involved are well established, even Sheffield the newest have been going for 35 years.

It sounds like good news, but there doesn't seem to be much substance in the article.  It gives vague explanations like Sheffield providing "support" and "advice".  I would love to know what that actually means in practical terms.

It's about time we lent some ''support'' to France.

Like getting Toulouse into the European Super League.

People here are always banging on about Australia's lukewarm attitude to International Rugby League but we treat the French in exactly the same way. Bring Toulouse into the fold and lets move towards a European State of Origin series.

Who’d be in that, England v France?

Yes. It strikes me as a very worthwhile goal to work towards.

The inclusion of more French teams further legitimises the European Super League tag too.

Who knows, even further down the line, we might have Red Star Belgrade and others.

Valencia, Legia Warszawa - the sky is the limit.
