I’ll let you guess the total number of phone calls and emails I’ve had from anyone from the Broncos since the Wimbledon proposal was announced. I like the idea of a ground that size - agree totally that it suits the need of the club at the moment - but feels like it would be even more of a travel headache than Ealing. Just looked it up and was surprised at how far a walk it is from both Hayes & Harlington and Southall. On the flip side - countless post-match meal options nearby! There are supposed to be two pedestrian bridges crossing the Grand Union Canal, when the housing development on the gas works is finished, which would reduce the walk to Southall station (on Crossrail) to about 15 minutes. Given the timescale involved, it could work out very nicely for the club's departure from Wimbledon and search for a new home that will magically fix all of its problems. It was mentioned earlier in the thread as a possible alternative ground to Trailfinders ( by nadera78 I think ) that would not involve such a big move as Wimbledon. When the two clubs merged, the bigger site (Hayes' old ground) was sold for housing with the money earmarked for developing Yeading's old ground. The money disappeared, as did the owners, and the people taking over had to start from scratch. It's happened at a lot of non-league clubs in London, and presumably elsewhere.
