moorside roughyed Posted December 27, 2020 Share Posted December 27, 2020 Rob Burrow, what a brave, courageous man. Its been lovely to see him with his family recently on TV. His battle with MND is so brave, he sets everyone such a fantastic example. His positive approach is inspiring. The support from his family, friends and the rugby league community has been lovely to see. Especially Kevin Sinfield, so proud of him as a fellow Oldhamer. The rest of the rugby league community have also rallied for him which is what rugby league does. His MBE is richly deserved as he fights this disease and to promote awareness of the condition. We are being told Burrow is awarded a MBE. Doddie Wier has an OBE. This is not the 'fault' of Wier, he is clearly a decent brave man. Both awards will be well deserved by their families. But here we are taking about different awards for the same tragedy. Luvvies at OBEs, more mortals MBEs. Thankfully Burrow is remembered properly.
