Friday, for the same reason, but Monday 28th is a carry over Bank Holiday, and the following weekend is a three dayer. Which means Pagan Winter Festival to Gregorian January 1st, is only 3 working days.

Has anyone ever suggested to you that you're work shy ?

Or bone idle ?

I AM UNEMPLOYED, I AM 58 YEARS OLD, BUT I APPLY FOR EVERY JOB THAT APPEARS ON THE JOB WEB SITES, DO YOU WORK FOR DWP?

INDEED, NO DESIRE TO RETIRE, LINKEDIN, NHSJOBS,  ETC ETC ETC ETC

DON'T EVER CALL ME BONE IDLE YOU BONE HEAD

By the way, when did you last work Christmas Day, or New Years Eve/Day, if ever, I had to as part of my contract with the NHS, and I missed my daughters 2nd Christmas because my manager declared it was "Time to learn her parents are not always going to be around, this is not an office job." Despite having worked in Theatres for 25 years, I thought that message was a bit rude (Message changed, because my real feelings are not transmittable on here).

If you regularly worked bank holidays, what does it matter that there are only three working days between Christmas and New Year ?

If you're unemployed, what significance do bank holidays have at all ?

Apologies if what was intended as a light-hearted throwaway comment has touched a nerve but you're making no sense here.

And - yes - I often work bank holidays.

In Theatres we had a (Semi) rotational Night shift/ Weekends/ Bank Holidays/ Christmas & New Year, at the Conquest we had an anaesthetic staff of 16, between 8 Theatres, so there was always pressure to work extra-hours. I think I worked a 64 hour week one week, despite our contract suggesting a 37.5 hour working week, so don't call me work shy, muppet.

Thursday for sure. Means the following Thursday is also a public holiday and likely little work to be done on Friday the 2nd.

Eeh, you young 'uns, SP!  I can remember when New Year's Day was a normal work day in England (as, I think, was Christmas Day in Scotland)  Can't say I got much work done on it, mind!

Sunday best because you can double up Xams dinner and Sunday dinner save on the cooking of two special meals in the same week.

In my area in Scotland when Xmas on Wednesday the kids get off school the previous Friday but when Xmas on a Friday they get off only on the 23 rd the pervious Wednesday.

Does this make any difference to the kids enjoyment of Xams just wondering?

Rank of best to worst months of the year to be out of the United Kingdom:-

These are the best (and worst) months to go on holiday - according to travel experts | Yorkshire Post

Best:- February

January

November

October

March

December

September

April

May

June

July

Worst:- August

Doesn't it depend where you are going as to which is the best or worst month?  I should like at some time to get to the Isle of Man, for instance, but I don't think I would choose February for a first visit!
