Hela Wigmen 2,496
Sounds like a dodgy Catalans rebrand but it’s not, Barcelona Dragons are a new team. https://mobile.twitter.com/EspanaRL/status/1350139486198493190 The badge is the sort you’d expect from a Catalans rebrand.
Damien 12,165
I saw an announcement from the Spanish Rugby League last week announcing teams for 2021. This shows them:

Maybe they just took the name of the city where they were from and stole the second part from an established RL team - very lazy, and teams that do that are lazy as well....

ATLANTISMAN 1,008
Funny enough the club in its original form wanted to call the SL side Perpignan/St Esteve Mediterranean (I kid you not) however one managed to convince them that Catalan Dragons would be the perfect name:) it took a bit of persuading but in the end the board saw the sense of incorporating the Dragons into the name. And the rest my friends is history LOL:) P
fighting irish 1,558
I'm chuffed to see the Spanish seem to be getting organised. All these fledgling nations need some form of merit table/squash ladder type of international competition to gauge their relative strength and motivate them to grow.
Damien 12,165
I actually think the logo looks pretty great.

There must be loads of northern expats in Majorca. Imagine the away followings if they got into SL
JM2010 515
Hopefully this league is successful. The aim shouldn't be to put teams in SL it should be to strengthen the game below this league in all the areas that are entering a team 2

If they can’t walk there, it’s too risky.
Leyther_Matt 823
Anyone got an idea of where the Goblins are based? I tend to go to Mallorca every other year or so and hope to be there again by the end of the year so would love to take a game in.

There seems to be a union club in Palma de Mallorca called Shamrock, that have been sharing on social media the Goblins logo etc. So I suppose it will be their players playing as the Goblins on their off weekends. I know Union has a decent presence in Andalusia, and the leagues there has just restarted after a COVID break.
