They may have no choice if there are travel restrictions with isolation clauses still in place.

Its certainly not ideal, though if agreed should result in some major form of support from the league and possibly even exemption from relegation.

The accommodation issue could be interesting.

Hence why it would have been stupid beyond belief to put Toulouse in SL and double the problem

That must surely have been a major factor in not elevating Toulouse, although maybe we are giving too much credit to the decision makers!

Realistically I’m expecting a shorter, delayed season with no loop fixtures and no relegation this year, even more likely given that there has to be a strong possibility that there will either be no Championship season, or if there is, it will also be severely shortened.

Everyone wants things to get back to normal but the bottom line is making sure it's safe to do so.

We're a bit like Cruise Ship Operators at the moment. They keep publishing holiday dates when everyone knows they'll just get cancelled & kicked down the Quayside.

A few dangerous blips have appeared on our Rugby League radar regards next season. These identify a real concern that there won't be sufficient time to safely go ahead with some of our flagship events.

Not only could Catalans sit out the entire campaign we may be in danger of postponing the World Cup for 12 months and binning the coming seasons Magic Weekend.

Needless to say the Championship and League 1 are already teetering on the brink and have little hope for starting never mind finishing their fixtures.

The sooner we stop pretending everything will be sorted by Easter the easier it will be to accept the controlled long haul to survival. 

As we've learned from the foolish fiasco allowing the Christmas break, peoples lives are far more important than a brief interlude of "do what you want everybody".
