Fev have signed a few decent players but they’ve been very heavily reliant on Leeds dual registration players over the last few years, something I believe is not happening in 2021.

Oh dear, not this again.

Fev really weren't "heavily reliant" on DR in recent years. They used it judiciously and went with smaller squads as a result.

This year Fev have a squad of 31. The two players they used consistently on DR over the last 18 months, Alex Sutcliffe and Callum McLelland, have been replaced by Kris Welham and Tom Holmes.

The clash between the packs when Fev play Toulouse should be something else.

Toulouse - Casty, Pelissier, Garbutt, Peyroux, Paulo, Hansen with maybe Vaivai, Dixon, Bretherton and Marion on the bench
Fev - Kopczak, Nu Brown, Harrison, Ferres, Day, Lockwood with maybe Moors, Bussey, Jones and Davies
think ten of those 20 played SL last year.

Of the current Leeds squad Callum Mclelland, Alex Sutcliffe, Mikolaj Oledski, Tom Holroyd, Cameron Smith, Liam Sutcliffe, Luke Briscoe, Jarrod O’Connor and Jack Broadbent have all played for Featherstone on dual registration. I think it’s fair to say they have been heavily reliant on the system. Fev may now have a bigger squad but they’ll be replacing the dual registration guys with players of a with lower standard.

Of those nine players 6 of them played about 15 games for Fev between them. Most of Luke Briscoe's games for Fev were as Fev player, so only Alex Sutcliffe and McLelland made a major contribution, and they've been replaced by Tom Holmes and Kris Welham. Still, I guess a relegation battle awaits, eh?

In terms of what’s in the best interests of rugby league in the northern hemisphere, the only desirable result is for Toulouse to be promoted to Super League, because of the boost it would give to rugby league’s popularity in France. Featherstone’s promotion would do nothing for the growth of rugby league in Britain. London’s promotion, though desirable, would do much less for the game in England, than Toulouse would do for the game in France, because of London’s poor financial strength and relatively poor ground situation. So clearly Toulouse is the much preferred outcome.

It would be quite remarkable if Remy Casty was to help the club achieve that goal, and then played on for one more year in Super League at age 37 or 38.

It will be all down to what happens on the field, as it should be.

In an  interview today remi said  hull where interested at first but never followed through. He agreed to sign for Toulouse if they where in super League. When they weren't chosen .Wakefield and Leigh showed interested. He was close to Leeds then they went quiet after signing their latest import. Then came back just before he met with Toulouse again. Once he spoke to Toulouse again he said his mind was made up.

I can tell you now Wakefield had no interest in Casty, a good player but not for us, sounds like agent talk to me.

In terms of what’s in the best interest of the sport then surely it’s that whoever does come up is equipped to compete, so that we avoid a yo yo scenario, plus is financially able to make that next step without a financial meltdown. Beyond that it doesn’t really matter where they come from, as long as they earned it.

It would be nice to see TO in SL and have 2 French Sides there to make a SL that bit more European. They have assembled a pretty good squad for the 2021 season. Casty is a great signing for them.

Hopefully its financially viable long term to have two French teams in SL. TO seem like they have good backing so would have a good chance of getting to SL and staying there.

Lets see what happens in 2021 hopefully the season goes ahead as planned.

And then join this very exciting  M62 village league that every broadcaster is going to pay a fortune To not miss

Give a rest with your snobbish fantasist nonsense.

You do realise that the M62 corridor that you deride so much has a population roughly the same size as NSW and Queensland combined! All the cities are represented even if not by name, the fact that we fail to capitalise is our own fault or just a true reflection the RL is what it always been and always will be - a minority sport.

Just so you know that's Hull, Leeds, Bradford, Manchester, Liverpool (just), Sheffield and major towns including Wigan, Huddersfield, Wakefield etc etc.

That is a large enough catchment area to interest most media networks in terms of revenue and the relatively generous SKY deal mirrors that. Its a small country for heavens sake, the only weakness is that the counties capitol is elsewhere and that capitol has not and never will have an interest in the sport. Ditto the wider world.

There were other players that were part of that dual reg agreement who were sent to Fev from Leeds that the poster didn't mention, so yes I would agree Fev have had access to many SL players from Leeds for sometime now, to deny it would be ludicrous

I know that Manchester, liverpool, bradford Sheffield, york, newcastle, are major citys, but they are not in superleague, and this is exactly the problem...

If they are good enough they will win the Championship this coming season and be promoted on merit.

I don't know any Featherstone fans who would deny the our Dual Reg agreement with Leeds has been a success for us, but no rules were broken and the arrangement also suited Leeds as well. But making out we were reliant on it is wide of the mark. In the Final against Toronto, three of the starting thirteen were from Leeds. McClelland, Sutcliffe and Goulding. The three of them featured a lot for us agreed, especially Goulding, who may have been on loan, but I  am not sure on that one. Anyway, no Dual Reg this season, so we will see what happens.

Nobody's denying it! It's the suggestion that Fev have owed their recent success to DR, when they have been arguably the most consistent Championship team over the last ten years or so, and topped the league four straight years without using DR.
