If only my parents had moved to Widnes sooner. Could be gone Wembley a few more times, seen them win even more cups galore, and beat the Aussies!

Still, mustn't grumble.

I don’t class this as a regret but a missed opportunity.  Last season coincided with our 30th wedding anniversary.  So the wife and I planned to fly from Adelaide to spend a few days in Hawaii then fly onto Toronto for a long weekend to watch Cas play there and meet up with my brother and mates from the UK and then back to Hawaii.

The only plus in all this is that we hadn’t booked anything before COVID took hold.

The only thing I regret is not getting into this game sooner. I've missed out.

Better late than never though. I optimistically carried over my 2020 CC final tickets to this year and there's still hope that it could happen.

I regret not training and working harder at the game when I was younger.

Years after I stopped playing one of my old coaches said “ you’d have been a good player if you weren’t so lazy”

The game’s changed, these days we take those young lads to one side and explain what they can achieve

Turning down an offer from the Broncos to manage their Academy teams. I preferred to stay with South London Storm! 

I moved south a couple of years after Carlisle RL were formed so I didn't get to see them play as often as I would have liked.

I think that's right up there with a Trinity Tales musical ending that one.

I have more general regrets and I could list about ten

But first and foremost is not appreciating fully what I was watching and being privvy to, for far too long. TGG the label told me and I wasn't always listening.

Me n'all.... I always gave my best, never went hiding and frequently got battered. My best was pretty useless but I don't particularly regret it. I enjoyed every game I played.

Not mine but my best mate was at Wembley for the GB Australia Test in 1994 with the rest of the University team. Enjoying the game and lots of beers, he popped to the toilet just as Bobbie Goulding came on as sub and missed Jiffy's try - we've never let him forget it .

As a fan I have yet to go to Australia and what with everything going on in the world I do wonder if I would get the chance to do so.

Went to that game with such high hopes, I was really looking forward to seeing Keiron Cunningham who was going to lead the great British revival, I think he went off after 20 minutes and the Aussies were running riot.

I left at half time, I`m not interested in thrashings no matter who`s doing the thrashing. I can remember feeling quite despondent about the state of international Rugby League.

I had a plan to take my camping gear to Canada, rent a car and tour Ontario for a few weeks, travelling into Toronto whenever there was a match. Ah, well...maybe one day.

Our school had a red hot side going through High School that won 4 State Cups at various age groups, the coach asked me once if I wanted to have a run with them and I said no thanks , I didn`t have the self belief ,ah well that`s life.

I see it in my youngest I know he`d make a good half back but he lacks the same confidence in himself. Anyway he`s studying to be a doctor now and I suggested that he might be the Kangaroos team doctor one day, I`d be so stoked, he said he will think about it.

From a playing perspective, I guess the regret is that I took up the game a little bit too late.  I was 15 when I started and I was a decent enough player but all of my contemporaries were already in the system from 11 or 12 and so had been scouted by the pro teams or in their systems by the time I was 17 and any good.  Still I really enjoyed playing through to under 19's in Wigan and then at University so no big regrets.

As a fan.  I loved the Great Britain tours to Australia.  Getting up early to watch the test matches live on the BBC and now watching the old videos on YouTube.  Now I am in a position to be able to enjoy a trip down under to follow a tour in Australia they are pretty much a thing of the past.  Maybe if there is a big World Cup in Australia that looks like it will get the investment it deserves I will make the trip.

Being a stocky little so&so at 12  playing on an under 13's team scoring 3 try's in first game, coach thinking I was too good and moving me to under 15's never scoring again all year and getting knocked out into the bargain!
