Boyd Cordner

Recommended Posts

The Roosters have applied for salary cap dispensation as captain Cordner faces at least 12 games out to ease his recovery from a series of head knocks.

After a full off season it is very worrying for him that he still needs an additional 12 weeks following 4 concussions in the 2020 season.

Conflicted on this one.  I really do hope he doesn't have to give the game away but his long term health is the critical factor.

I'm with you on this Graham. Sad as he came across as a helluva likeable guy. Hopefully, the Roosters can find a backroom\coaching position for him.

Very concerning . If he needs 12 weeks off even before the start of the season , after downtime in the offseason , then something’s not right . And even after a period out he could come back and get another head knock . I don’t like it , we can’t mess about with these things , especially as we learn more and more about the long term medical problems inherent with all this . I’m sure they have great medical expertise but maybe he should think about taking it out of their hands , he’s a champion who’s done it all. I never thought that before but this long period out before a game is quite unsettling

He has had a number of concussions over the last two years. Can't help feeling he may be suffering the sort of symptoms Stevie Ward has had over here and he may not have any choice but to retire and go into a coaching / mentoring / admin type role.
