Regardless of what you think of him, there’s no denying that if he got involved he’d get SL by the scruff of the neck and drag it from the mire.

Don't you mean "into" instead of "from".

Yeah the rebrand looks good and we’ve had some good attendances but the Toronto report and everything that went with it was embarrassing.

All in all the clubs will never agree and it’s an unforgivable job. Just a glorified spokesman for the 12 turkeys voting against Christmas.

SL needs an independent board to make decisions

I believe if Covid didn’t happen, Elstone would still be in post as several of the negative entries in his ledger are due to the pandemic.

Ultimately the game can’t afford him.

I couldn't mount an argument against those who are saying there is very little he could change. The trouble for me is that I never saw much evidence he wanted to change things for the better. His whole style seems to be to leak his view on something (generally, keep the foreigners out) and then spend three months compiling a report reaching that conclusion. I don't think his salary is excessive for his job, but all Elstone has been is a glorified spokesperson for a few club chairmen.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

He’d be the greatest sports administrator of all time . He’s an expert on rugby league - no one knows more about it than him , and he’d do deals - tremendous deals for the game . The game would grow so bigly there’d be no stopping it

No you’re right, let’s carry on the same tin pot clubs running the game and excluding anyone with any ambition who might threaten their position.

He has been a staggering waste of money. Let's get it all back under one roof at the RFL and start to focus on how we are going to make internationals a regular fixture and how any potential 'expansion' clubs in SL in the future will grow the international game.  A bit of joined up thinking please.

As I stated on a previous thread: Sky run SL and the RFL run the🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿RL national team, the CC and the rest.

I am no expert and don't pretend or claim to know it all but I believe now is the time to look elsewhere from Sky. There must be other markets and commercial opportunities❓

C4 have just put 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏏back on normal 📺and I am personally loving it. Sky have monopolised 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏏tours since 1990 however they have competition.

Ideally RL can take advantage of that competition IMHO.

If I am wrong...so it must be.

??

Getting internationals as regular fixtures was Rimmers job.  You do know that dont you?  Who do you think organised the return of GB?

Neither Rimmer or Elstone orchestrated Toronto to go bust.  There was a pathway for TWP to get promoted.

I see Eddie "our latest messiah" Hearn's name has been mentioned. I doubt anyone with his ego would take on a job where every major decision is subject to a penny-pinching club chairmen veto.

Although the evidence suggests they will spend money when they see fit.

But he could get games on Sky ...

... was I believe something he said seriously during the last time he pretended to have an interest and the seals clapped along.

Team Sky had a phenomenal decade of cycling success before their sponsorship ended. Team Ineos are now sponsored by the richest man in GB. I had never heard of him and yet consider myself knowledgeable about sport in general.

Cycling has grown in the UK since Team Sky burst onto the scene. It's probably still a minority sport❓

Can RL do something similar in seeking sponsorship, whoever is at the helm of the game❓
