Dust the boots off!!!

Recommended Posts

As it stands today (05/March/2021) our expected timeline is as follows:

  • From the 29th March – Training can begin, this will involve a phased return to contact
  • From the 24th April – Friendly fixtures may take place
  • From the 8th May – Competitive fixtures may take place

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

Really looking forward to watching a game from the sidelines again, it's been too long.

As for dusting off the boots, it'll be more like hammering in the leather studs, waxing the laces and giving them a rub of dubbin.

And then checking my life insurance........

Very exciting! Am surprised with the phased return to contact given it's so close to friendlies starting.

We've been telling our players since January that we expect a very quick turnaround when the green light is given.

We're officially appointing a new coach next Saturday 13/March/2021, then training will start (If the plan falls into place) 16 days afterwards.

On the 24th/April/2021 we will have our overs 30's v under 30's and the following weekend we will be arranging a friendly.

Yeah I'm going to the coaching webinar by the RFL on Tuesday so I can start planning properly! I expect we'll link in with the local universities for our friendlies, obviously they've missed out on a season this year so I think should be really keen!

Our new coach has a strong link with the Doncaster college so hopefully we may get the odd new player.

For those looking forward to watching games, at the moment the RFL Guidelines are still no spectators. Though I appreciate at some rugby and football grounds, this may be "got around".
