Looks like NY have dropped the League One idea then, which is obviously sensible and to be expected, but I hadn’t heard them say it before.

Saw from the Twitter account they said there still is still a bid going on from the original management team to enter the uk system.

More fool them. I don’t see the UK as a welcoming place for NA teams, Even French teams seem to be begrudgingly accepted. NA sides surely have to look to have their own comp as a way to get into the game.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

They commented on Twitter saying they’re still wanting to be in L1 but I the article they say that NYRL and NY Freedom are different teams. All very confusing

Leigh has been very welcoming in the past...followed closely by Whitehaven.

It was a reference to the SL hierarchy as a whole, not about every SL club or clubs generally.

New York RL seemingly still quasi-exists to sell merchandise to suckers.

A proper rugby league tradition.

NY Freedom.

Very cringeworthy.

New York Liberty is already taken by the WNBA team.

New York Freedom are a rebadged White Plains Wombats (and will play there, a fair way from NYC).

Then I guess it's a good thing they don't claim to be the New York City Freedom, eh?

White Plains is in New York.

40 minutes on the train, apparently.

Also, fair play to whoever got up early to edit the White Plains wiki page which already has a mention of the Freedom playing there.

City of brotherly love, although my experience of Philly and its sports fans often suggests the opposite. It’s a tough, tough city.

Ah, the dreams of men are rarely, if ever, fully realised.
