Half back Gaza Folau, brother of Israel Folau, signed by Catalans.

It has been announced by Catalans official Christophe Jouffret that dynamic half back Gaza Folau, younger brother of the club’s former star centre Israel Folau, has been signed by Catalans. The signing indicates that the club is looking at quality cover for Josh Drinkwater, and a possible replacement for the latter aging Australian who has not displayed the form he showed for the club in 2018.

According to coach Steve MacNamara “Gaza has been playing in the Lebanese rugby league competition and has been in stellar form. He is a briiliant attacking half, with blinding acceleration and dazzling footwork, in the mould of Benji Marshall and Shaun Johnson. Gaza is an excellent goal kicker, and his field kicking is precision quality. He is exactly the kind of half we have been searching for.”

Gaza Folau may be selected to play off the Catalans bench in coming weeks.

People who have seen Gaza play agree that he is an explosive player in attack, and in defensive mode  launches himself like a projectile against attacking players.
