Catalan look a well drilled side.

And how often have we been able to say that since they joined SL? A positive sign for the competition as a whole.

Minus a coach who was making them better than the sum of their parts, I would say.

Minus the conditioner,as well.

That minus is certainly noticeable.

Catalan look a well drilled side. Be interesting to see how they do against the likes of Hull and Saints this year...

Thomas Bosc now running the attack. Seems to be a lot more disciplined and clinical.

Catalans were clearly in control for most of the match.

Next week Catalans play Warrington in Perpignan. This should confirm that Catalans are a top four side. Against Salford Sam Tomkins was brilliant as usual. Samisoni Langi was a strong force in attack. The wingers did a good job, with Yaha notching three tries.. Julien Bousquet and Sam Kasiano were destructive up the middle. Hooker Da Costa was impresssive, as was former West London Sharks second rower Mike McMeeken.

Next week a home game victory in Perpignan against Warrington Wolves would establish Catalans as a top four side. More consistently good performances by James Maloney and Josh Drinkwater would see Catalans as hot contenders for silverware.

They've not got enough strength in depth to be contenders. Two or three injuries and theyre playing with 18/19 year olds who have no experience apart from traveling and training with the team. From the 16 players he has confidence in from today there's only goudemand? and Tomkins to come back who are players he has confidence in. After that he is left with segieur, julien, and the younger players like morgue, laguerre, chan, le cam etc.

Expensive trip for the Red Devils and think of the expense that the Catalans have.

Hats off to all those people at the Catalans for doing what they are doing

Plus the catalans are paying 20k to bein sports to film and produce every home game.

And yet Sky makes money from the Bein production which is not paid back by Sky as compensation to Catalans.

Its all looking depressing from a Salford perspective. The team aren't performing, the stadium looks as if it will be sold. Marshall isn't saying the things I like to hear from a coach. The conditioner was a big loss as was Flash

Seguier got 29 minutes Saturday from the bench. I rate Goudemand presently injured. A lot made of their best ever start. Warrington and Hull round the corner though will be a test. If you are winning do you keep the same team then. The likes of Wigan and Leeds give the youngsters a go - including teenagers. Laguerre was 22 yrs on debut. The month of August will be a real challenge with 6 games. This year though the youngsters/reservers feeling a lot,lot closer on lots of levels than ever before.
