Unfortunately Oldham have an injury crisis with most of our starting 17 forwards missing today so can't see beyond a comfortable London win.

Same at Haven we had 5 missing last week add another 4 this week. Going to be a tough against Featherstone even with a full squad.

Isn't it refreshing to have a commentator who gives a brief overview of field position, description of the play [shifting it left / right etc], broadly, a neat & clear summary of what is unfolding. And can pause - leave the mic open - with no obvious need to just talk for the sake of it. Allows the viewer to enjoy the match unfold.

Plus, the co-commentator, does not have to tag a line or two after the summary; again allowing space for the viewer to think about the game unfolding on screen.

Having camera focus on the play, rather than constantly zooming on the wrestling as the tackle is being completed.

Few replays to disturb the sense of the unfolding game

An acceptance that mistakes happen now and again; no big dramas, no need for multi-angle replays. Just mistake made, reset ... let the viewer see the game.

Shirt numbers that broadly match playing positions ... the hooker and 9; half backs at 6 & 7 etc

Plus shirt colours and style .. it's obvious who is playing .. 🙂

Still not sure why it's only the coaches that will be "disappointed", "upset", "frustrated", about missed tackles and errors ... Commentators, please note ... the whole team gets p*ssed off about when things don't go to plan

Sky, please take note

100%. Damian Irvine has learned from the Richie Benaud maxim: Don’t speak unless you can add to the picture.

Stark contrast to some of the Beeb’s ‘audio description for the blind’ commentary style in some of their streams.

Strange game really, Oldham with huge injury problems & arriving late & London not having played much. The game was disjointed & a bit dull at times. Not sure what to make of London, some really good players but a quite a few who look part time quality with full time training. Hopefully Oldham will have enough to stay up but I can't see London troubling Fev / Toulouse for promotion.

Agree with all that. Four of London's tries were a bit freaky, and Oldham opened them up  down the middle numerous times. Given Oldham look one of the weaker teams in the division, had a long injury list and a disrupted preparation, I think there is still plenty to do before London can even be considered top 6 candidates. London's wings both looked very good but not many others stood out, bar Sammut's two opportunist tries.

No more than a C grade for the London performance, strange interview with Matt Diskin pre-game in which he admitted to targeting matches of which London away was not one.

Terrible match coverage shaky video and at both half and full time the hooter going before Our Leagues game clock had reached either the 40th or 80th minute.

Jarrod Sammut mercurial, Abbas Miski good but apart from those two a very ordinary London side indeed. Oldham kept on going which should please the coach but to be honest I would have thouh London there for the taking if they had the right mind-set.

London a long way from being anything other than a lower mid-table championship side.
