Lee Briers and Andrew Henderson will leave

Warrington at the end of the season  as Powell brings his own backroom staff.

Briers has been at Warrington for 24 years having an outstanding playing career and coaching at various levels.

One door closes and one will open for Briers.

Or in my case, usually the opposite!

I was talking to a SL coach last week who said that hopefully the drinking culture at the club which he said is centred round Briers would now disappear

I was scrolling down in order to post the same thing!!

Except I didn't hear it from a SuperLeague coach... I just imagined it to be the case.

Something is culturally wrong at the club, and I think moving on people like Briers is a must if that is going to change.

Really interesting to hear - thanks for sharing.

Have you ever thought that maybe has more to do with the departing head coach.

I’m gonna call bull then 👍🏻

Call what you like spidey.... and it's not my call....

BUT,

From what I know of Phil, he's not one for posting bs. If he says it I'm more inclined to believe it. I reckon I will know the coach too.... but thats just me speculating

Not my cup of tea, but Shirley...no one can doubt his commitment to the club and the game (not that anyone is doing) In his role as water carrier, and even on occasions as the 14th man, he's been one of the most driven of people. Let's just hope he stays in our code and does not find if necessary to move to another code to find employment.

If it’s not been told in confidence share the source. If it has been told in confidence why post at all?

Im not a Warrington fan. Far from it but do live in the town. There used to be stories about Warrington’s drinking culture in late 90s and the 2000s and you’d see that in action in town.

You see the squad now and again out in small groups (pre covid) but mainly at costa not the pub

The only player I know to attract any attention was Chris Sandow when he was there, but without any other players

So you were going to make it up?

ever since a former staff member told me they had put Tom Lineham (who by his own admission had lived at home his whole life, and couldn't do anything for himself) in a shared house with Ryan Bailey (or, as said staff member called him 'the Ale Can') it has been quite obvious that there is a big cultural problem at the club.  Lineham, you may remember, couldn't even get a start on loan at Rochdale.

so no... not making it up.  Anybody who follows them can see there is a lack of professionalism in certain areas.
