Henry Perenara Retires

Recommended Posts

Veteran rugby league referee Henry Perenara has been forced to retire due to medical reasons.

Perenara has been diagnosed with exercise-induced supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and was forced to hang up the whistle on the advice of medical professionals.

Despite his retirement from on field duties, Henry will continue with the NRL Match Officials Department, working as a review official in the Bunker and performing a number of coaching functions with both top tier and up and coming match officials.

“The health and well-being of match officials has always been our top priority,” Del Vecchio added.

“I want to sincerely thank Jared Maxwell and the NRL for their continued support of Henry.”

Very best wishes to Henry. His health rightly comes first.

Good luck to him in the future and thanks for his services to the great game of ours.
