Full time Raiders 10 Bears 36. Excellent performance today, completed set after set, defended brilliantly and were clinical in attack. Thats a very good Bears side!

Great result Bears.  WWR looked decent at their televised challenge cup match and i am pleased with this win😀

How did A.J. play

Got a try which was finished well and overall looked very good. He's very strong for a young lad and didn't look out of place at all considering he was thrown straight in. Getting game time will improve his game massively

Some nice patches to more than kill the game , and some really lax patches in between . Skolars started like it was gonna be a contest but when Town got going they folded in two sharpish

Town 50 Skolars 16

Strange game, Town weren’t great but still far too good for a very poor Skolars team.

Town never got out of first gear, Scholars absolutely dreadful.

Very poor performance & even ignoring the score line it was not an enjoyable match to watch - too many basic penalties/basic mistakes. The coach must be livid.

Needs a bit of context though...

Skolars were without a number of experienced players today... Lameck Juma, Dalton Grant, Judd Greenhalgh, Mike Greenhalgh, Illies Macani, Lamant Bryan, & 2 more ex Bronco reserves all missing through injury.

Starting line up had players playing out of position & injuries during game pushed even more players out of position.

Real concern about strength in depth of squad though - if players don't recover from injuries quickly this could be a very disappointing & long season 🥲

This is what it’s all about . Eliott Miller , league one player of 2020 ( ahem ) Hanley Dawson , Perry Singleton , Stevie Scholey , Tom Curwen , and Jake Moore out the game . Absorbing absentees with squad strength goes a fair way to deciding your season

Town also had numerous player's missing , Scholars unfit, unorganized and very poorly coached.

A lot of champ teams suffered loads of injuries when the season got going , that year out has taken it's toll on league one aswell it seems

Barrow's pack just a bit too strong today, if anyone finishes above the raiders I'll be surprised. Cougars definitely not helped by losing QLT inside the first 5 minutes and the resulting reshuffle.

Cougars are a good side they will be there abouts , Barrow lost their way a bit when Dallimore was sin binned and you came back at them. They are a different team now he is back from injury.

Some very promising individual performances from Doncaster. The downpour in the 2nd half made for a bit of a free for all. Greensmith looks an excellent prospect. The other 3/4s, Smeaton, Tali and Doherty all played well. Peltier is still a real handful. Taulapapa didn't look right. Not sure what happened there. Overall though got to be pleased with that.

A long season for the skolars ahead, they have gone backwards it seems, the Bears beat them in the warm up games and they are looking at the moment like contenders for the bottom of the league, that's if the ww raiders can get Henson on the pitch.

Some good players missing there. It's why you have a squad though. Our entire first choice backrow is injured. Players like Johnson and York now have the opportunity to become first choice. It's how the game works.
