Should Shaun Wane approach Sam Walker and Victor Radley?

With the furor over George Williams this week, and his probable lack of experience playing rugby league again this season (unless Derek Beaumont signs him), Williams may not be in any physical or mental state to play for England in October. 

Victor Radley's 5 week suspension gives him limited prospects of playing for New South Wales Origin this year, and hence cripples his chances of representing Australia in the World Cup.

In the light of these facts, might Shaun Wane be advised to approach Leeds born brilliant young talent Sam Walker for the England half back slot, and Victor Radley (the son of an English father) for England's loose forward? They are Roosters team mates, and will know each other's games perfectly by October. They are each massive talents.

The only reason we are even talking about Sam Walker is because Luke Keary has been ruled out with a long term injury.  Otherwise he would still be in NSW Cup.

If we want to draft a talented 18 year old half back into the England squad then turn to Lewis Dodd.

Sam Walker , Victor the former Inflictor and Josh Morris should be contacted immediately and convinced to commit to our World Cup winning campaign , with Trent Robinson made assistant coach . All should get constant phone calls from Chris McQueen and Chris Heighington until they agree

Whether he should or shouldn't is immaterial, Shaun Wane has already said he's not going to be fishing in that particular pool

Isn’t that a bit narrow minded? Other nations and other sports regularly select native born (but not locally raised)  players and heritage players for their national teams.

Yes. And you have come to that position because Walker and Ridley are head and shoulders above any current English player in their respective positions.

if sbw and sam burgess were playing under the current rules neither would have created their own legacy

Sam Walker has arguably made the best start to a senior career of any Half in the fully professional era.

 

He has been every inch an assured superstar with running game, passing short and long and a terrific close range kicking game.

 

The Kangaroos will almost certainly go Cleary, Keary, Munster and Cherry Evans as their 4 halves with Wighton as backup in the squad but picked primarily as a centre though IMO they would be missing a trick not taking Walker as a wildcard.

With the Keary injury I’d say there’s a half’s squad spot available. If Jarome luai plays origin and impresses he might be in the conversation. Walker depending how he continues to develop may be ready. The way Canberra are going will not do eight on any favours unless he can be the architect of a monumental reversal in form.

One's a teenager with virtually no experience, isn't proven at club level yet and still makes loads of mistakes.

As for Radley, I just don't see what all the fuss is about. He puts in the odd big hit and the aussie media cream their pants and that's about it. I wouldn't even pick him in the Saints team over Knowles, let alone in the England team.

Move along Manfred - if they're not good enough to play for Australia then they're not good enough to play for England, we don't need or want your cast-offs.

I would certainly agree that Morgan Knowles and Lewis Dodd can be every bit as good as Sam Walker and Victor Radley.  Just because the latter play in the NRL it doesn't make them inherently better players.
