Latest from the  bradford postponement

"While clubs are required to have played 70 per cent of their scheduled fixtures to be eligible for the play-offs, the RFL Board previously ruled that Toulouse matches postponed as a result of the current quarantine regulations will not count as postponed for either Toulouse or their opponents.

In this case, neither Toulouse nor Bradford will be penalised for circumstances beyond their control.

In making this decision, the Board noted that French Government quarantine regulations make it unreasonable to require Toulouse to play any more away matches."

24-0 to TO as Bulls are a full time environment. (So Warrington told us when Robson went there on a long term loan)

Bulls are a hybrid environment. About 10 full-timers and rest are part-time. So Robson will train fulltime as part of the fulltime group.

Game is cancelled not postponed and wont count towards either teams stats.

Lucky for Bradford, as likely TO would have won.

Due to play Dewsbury at the Tetley Stadium on June 13th. Will this also be postponed?

So, what does this mean for the next month of fixtures and to the overall situation in the league?

It means the rfl are confident that they can fudge Toulouse to finish top and then they just need to fix the playoffs and they can get them promoted

Think its only the games in France that are affected. Part time teams aren't asked to travel due to the requirement to quarantine on their return. Toulouse are fulltime so they can travel to UK then quarantine when they return to France. Until France are on 'green' list for travel can't see Toulouse having any home games.

Read the last line of the press release, as highlighted by Chris Taylor above.

Not really understanding the directive from the governing body in respect of Toulouse, supposing they don't play any more games this season will they still be elegible for the play offs?

If so will they join the other 5 making 6 teams in the mini comp, or will the 5th placed team be ejected to make way for them?

Or being on 100% will they be deemed the League leaders and 'earn' the preferences the top team gets,

Or if they still can't travel or accept home fixtures by the time the play offs come around, will that just be hardlines Toulouse or will promotion be withheld for this season?

I was under the impression that they had to play a certain number of games however as it’s Toulouse I’m sure that will be flexible???

At the start of the season CP Clubs were   required to have played 70% of their league fixtures (16 out of 22 in the Betfred Championship) to qualify for the play-offs.

It was stated some time ago that Toulouse matches postponed as a result of the current quarantine regulations will not count as postponed for either Toulouse or their opponents – so that neither are penalised for circumstances beyond their control.

Genuinely struggling with the people on this thread trying to make out the system is biased in favour of Toulouse, it's actually the opposite. For instance if Fev make the final of the 1895 Cup Toulouse won't get to play Fev at home as that game will simply be postponed but they will have to play them away.

Also regarding the line "In making this decision, the Board noted that French Government quarantine regulations make it unreasonable to require Toulouse to play any more away matches.""

- my take on this is that by "any more away matches" they mean "any more beyond the regular away games they are already scheduled to play" (because each one requires a 7-day quarantine on return) - ie they won't be forced to play any more of their home games in the UK. I might be wrong though.

Yes, I wondered if this was the meaning of that last sentence. No doubt the RFL will quickly realise that there is confusion and clarify their real meaning soon.

Anyone criticising the seemingly ever changing conditions clearly hasn't had to manage anything themselves during this pandemic. Nobody has any real idea what is going to be happening in two weeks time and that has been the case for over a year. Those managing the game are obviously simply trying to do there best in the circumstances.
