St George Illawarra Dragons vs Brisbane Broncos at Kogarah Oval, 7.50pm

Dragons: 1. Matthew Dufty 2. Cody Ramsey 3. Brayden Wiliame 4. Gerard Beale 5. Mikaele Ravalawa 6. Corey Norman 7. Ben Hunt 8. Blake Lawrie 9. Andrew McCullough 10. Paul Vaughan 11. Josh Kerr 12. Jack Bird 13. Jackson Ford

14. Talatau Amone 15. Poasa Faamausili 16. Daniel Alvaro 17. Jack de Belin

18. Kaide Ellis 19. Adam Clune

Players cut: 20. Jayden Sullivan 21. Jordan Pereira

Late Mail: Gun fullback Matt Dufty made it through the captain’s run session on Wednesday and will make his return from a shoulder injury. Jack de Belin has been named after making his return to the field via NSW Cup last weekend. Fox League commentator Dan Ginnane is predicting close to a 30-minute stint after getting through 45 minutes of reserve grade the week earlier. “I expect 25 to 30 minutes either side of half time. If the game is out of hand, one way or the other, if they’ve got Brisbane shot or they’re miles behind, they might leave him on a little bit longer,” Ginnane told NRL Tonight.

Broncos: 1. Jamayne Isaako 2. Selwyn Cobbo 3. Herbie Farnworth 4. Jesse Arthars 5. David Mead 6. Albert Kelly 7. Tyson Gamble 8. Matthew Lodge 9. Jake Turpin 10. Thomas Flegler 11. Alex Glenn 12. Tevita Pangai Junior 13. John Asiata

14. Kobe Hetherington 15. Keenan Palasia 16. Ethan Bullemor 17. TC Robati

18. Jordan Riki 19. Tesi Niu

Players cut: 20. Dale Copley 21. Cory Paix

Late Mail: Jordan Riki could be a late inclusion in the 17 which would see Keenan Palasia dropping back to be 18th man. Kobe Hetherington is fit to play after passing his game day HIA last week and training during the week.

Morning. Amazingly, this is only the 4th time these 2 teams have played at Kogarah. Even allowing for that stat to be for St George Illawarra rather than the old St George, it still seems odd - only 3 games in 20 years. If we say they played half their games in Wollongong, that still only gives us 6 games total.

Just now, Graham said:

Evening.

Not many games this round. Let’s hope they are good competitive ones.

There’ll be at least one surprise result in the round surely? There usually is in the bye round.

I think it might be Wests beating Panthers. The depleted Panthers 1-13 still looks good but their bench is, Who?, Some Guy, Some Other Guy, and whoever else turns up.

St George have a similar problem to Wests. (and most bottom-half teams.) They haveplenty of speed but no consistent line breakers. If no-one's getting through the line then there's nowhere for all the speedsters to run.  Who else is going to get the defensive line backing off if you've just got trundlers carting the ball up every time or backs running sideways?
