Kevin Sinfield - to leicester

Recommended Posts

Reported by the site love rugby league site

Now love rugby league is a really negative site on our sport - it's shock and awe journalism is like the daily star or the sun. Pathetic stories most of the time

Does anybody know about this

Sinfield is/was being groomed to fully replace Hetherington so it would be odd to leave at this point - unless the Leeds board aren't happy with his performance in the DOR role which is possible given where we are vs where we were when he was brought in.

Certainly even if the money on offer was more than at Leeds he's never particularly been motivated by cash alone. However he's also someone who believes in challenging himself. I personally don't think stepping down to rugby union would ever be a decent challenge but Sinfield has exhibited weirdy favourable views of the sport in the past and certainly he's been at Leeds so long he may long for a different environment.

Identify - with Agar - and sign players, deal with agents and contracts, manage the salary cap and long-term squad planning. Essentially it's overall responsibility for the football department, including hiring and firing the head coach, who reports into him.

This is just by way of a bit of balance, and of course there are negative stories as well, but if Total Forums were measured on a simple negative/positive spectrum ........

LRL are simply reporting what was in the Rugby Paper, which is where the Sinfield link has come from.

A League Publications product, just like this website.

Perhaps someone from this site could shed some light?

I heard he had been approached as an attack coach, however it could of course be rumours. An utter tragedy though if the Leeds Rhinos' DoR (and a Rugby League legend) leaves the sport to be an assistant coach at a union club.

Love Rugby League has nothing to do with League Publications.

They have a bit part office in a local railway station

Up to and including playing it for a season after his league career.

He's probably off and we can get back to pretending that the coaches' brain drain doesn't matter.

Sinfield isn't a coach though; he's an administrator with a somewhat unproven track record.

I hope he doesn't go.  He hasn't set the world on fire since his return in a management role, but hasn't done too much wrong and, well COVID.

His son is in the Leeds Academy setup (U17s?). If he turns out to be any good and Sinfield left we'd probably see him go to RU as well.

Without a doubt Kevin Sinfield is  now a nationally recognized person, every time he comes on TV most people know who he is ,every time people hear his name they know who he is . This has probably been deliberately leaked as the other codes season ends and ours is getting going and we have lots of positive promoting and work to do . If it does happen they will want him on the panels of their big games talking about their sport as if ours is insignificant.  The very fact that we are talking about this means they have made us take our eye off our season.

Soon we will be dancing the fandango

Leeds are going backwards, if he wasn’t a legend of a player for the club would anyone care about this?
