Awful scenes , shows what having the right equipment at games can achieve and why Lizzie Jones campaign is important.

I was at the Salford game when the Chris Sanderson happened all those years ago. That awful silence stays with you

Why are people angered at the coverage, it's real life. That coverage just might make people look after each other more, as the Danish players did. And be more thankful for what they have got, and highlight dire medical emergencies can happen to anyone at anytime.

They could have turned off. I remember seeing Grenfell in full blaze - no one said they shouldn't show that.

That was completely unforgivable.

As has been pointed out, they manage to cut away from streakers without so much of a glimpse of a flying cock but for this we need close ups of emergency CPR?

I fear for the worst and pray for the best for the player. Nothing else matters right now.

Luckily, my 7 year old son wasn't watching the game as I think I'd have had a lot of uncomfortable questions to answer.

The second it became clear they were doing CPR it should've been turned off. Instead, they chose to keep cutting to it.

This was a famous player we are very familiar with who was fighting for his life. Also medics were trying to save him. The reactions and upsetment of the Danish players was very private and personal.

Having seen someone very close need similar recovery I am relieved I didn't see it today.

Did you see burning bodies? Did you see the emergency services trying to save lives?

I found out, from the reaction today, that if you are ever in a position where you need to use a defibrillator then the machine itself will be able to talk you through how to use it. I didn't know that before and I'm pleased I know it now.

My opinion is we soon knew this was a very serious , potentially fatal situation . We did not need to see the bloke staring into nowhere while he gets emergency resuscitation treatment and his body jerking with the defibrillator, then a director choosing to cut to a camera showing his wife . Even she couldn’t look, as we did . Whoever controls the pictures ... the bbc controls our feed and can cut that . The footage was totally unnecesssry

Danish TV did a far better job, we saw far less.

The other sides is that it was really not clear whether he was alive or dead.

The ground is literally walking distance to Denmark's major hospital.

I think the BBCs comments about the feed are a complete cop out. Yes they have no control over the match cameras and what is shown, that is always the case in these tournaments, but they do have have complete control on whether to show that feed or not and could have instead easily switched to the studio.

I think credit is due to the studio team who handled it brilliantly. I appreciate that some of the time before cutting to the studio would have been getting them ready and helping them get words together but that doesn’t mean it was necessary to stay with the intrusive stadium footage.

I was watching the game and didn't see Eriksen go down. As they were talking about it looking bad, I was certainly thinking routine bad injury (head knock, leg break, dislocation etc). It wasn't until I saw the CPR that the magnitude became clear, it should absolutely have been cut at this point. The fact that CPR was shown time and again was totally absurd.

I felt very sorry for them. I found it very distressing but have much less of a connection than they do, how they were able to speak I don't know.

I can see the point you're making and in many ways it should be true, but I think you're missing how human nature works.

With examples like Grenfell and 9/11 you are further removed from the tragedy, and deep down you know what must be happening inside but you are not personally witnessing it.

That's not to say it's not upsetting, but it's not the same as seeing an individual who you are familiar with fighting for his life while his family and friends watch on. If they were showing CCTV footage from inside a flat, that would be completely different.

Logically, of course this shouldn't be true but there are millions of examples of how human nature works this way. Why does the disappearance of one young girl create emotion in the way millions dying from starvation doesn't? Why does the death of a Princess create an outpouring of grief multiple times greater than a natural disaster thousands of miles away?

We are creatures of our evolution, and personally seeing a man fighting for his life creates more immediate upset than watching a mass tragedy from afar.

You're right, of course, even though it's not logical. People had the choice to turn off the TV - they didn't have to keep watching just so they could be shocked and then outraged.

If an intimate moment of mine was broadcast on TV, that I could turn my own TV off would not really make everything OK.

Perhaps a lesson for UEFA and their host broadcasters. Let's not forget the stadium full of people looking at it too. The players shouldn't have had to provide privacy.

Some idiot after a bit of self aggrandisement runs on the pitch and the camera immediately pans away, a young man battles for his life with his wife in attendance and it’s broadcast around the world. Shameful
