Shudds (Kirklees) not surprised but how come Leeds again?  Kirklees based players?

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Would these games be cancelled, or would they be rearranged?

Being cynical, it would all depend on league position. Strategically avoiding certain fixtures can help your league position on this contrived format being used this season.

Chris Chester has a point IMO. If a club gets an outbreak of at least 7 players as Hudds has done then there must surely be a question over the clubs diligence. Understandable to relax given how much has opened up in May but a shame really as we could do without the disruption of last season.

Leeds confirmation the Leeds-St Helens game is off -

The Rhinos currently have two players who have received a positive COVID-19 test whilst seven players are self-isolating following track and trace.

Since last weekend, one player is self-isolating after being contacted by NHS test and trace having come into contact with a member of the public who had tested positive.

On Monday, during the routine lateral flow testing at the club, a player tested positive which has been confirmed with a subsequent PCR test. That positive result meant two more players had to self-isolate.

On Tuesday morning, another player returned a positive lateral flow test, which led to four players being ruled out through contact tracing from Monday’s training session.

There were no additional positive COVID-19 tests in the previous round of Lateral Flow Tests on Monday and again on Wednesday morning for all players and staff who were not isolating.

The remaining fit and available players will train as normal on Wednesday at the club’s training ground.

The two players who tested positive are being monitored by the Leeds Rhinos medical staff, and in the interests of privacy, the club will not be disclosing their names.

Leeds Rhinos game against St Helens due to be played this Friday at Emerald Headingley has been postponed.

As with the Huddersfield Giants versus Wigan Warriors fixture, which has also been postponed as a result of Covid-19, the clubs will liaise with the RFL on a possible date to rearrange the match later in the season.

Sky Sports had been due to show the Leeds Rhinos versus St Helens game, but will now cover the match between Hull KR and Salford Red Devils (kick-off 745pm).

All it shows is how easily transmittable it is. Maybe halftime team talks, for example, should be done over Zoom?

the two LEEDS players both live in Kirklees.

so even going to get some shopping could have seen them pick up the virus which is supposed to be in full flow in the area. maybe they live in a house that has children in it just how do you avoid this virus completely.

answer on the back of an envelope to matt Hancock up

Nope, 'Kirklees' is a made up name for the joining up of 11 local district authorities into 1, including the once seperate towns of Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley, Mirfield, Cleckheaton, Heckmondwike and Holmfirth.

It is, was and always will be a much maligned topic to the people who fall under this made up name and if a referendum were to take place in the areas represented by it to disband it i can guarantee you it wouldn't stand a chance.

Allegedly the name was chosen by an exercise akin to 'stick the tail on the donkey' where pins were stuck in a map of the areas to be included and then a shortlist was drawn up of them places, one of the pins ended up in the grounds of a former priory, Kirklees priory and for some unbeknown reason this ended up being  chosen asthe name of the made up council - There is no such place as Kirklees, it's the name of a large metropolitan district that some blokes in a room decided sounded good!!

The strategy being to upset everyone equally rather than naming the council after the biggest town or city (as with Wakefield, Wigan, etc) where they only enraged the people from all of the other settlements!

regardless of which its certainly there as they even have maps of the area. I know what you are on about but just wishing something away does not make it unreal .

its been Kirklees council since 1974  when the conservative government of the time reorganised local government to there advantage so that's 48 years ago . in fact longer because they actually held elections for it in 1973.
