Jamaica name Rugby League World Cup train-on squad

The comment about not being allowed a mid-season test is concerning if taken literally, though that could well just mean they weren't able to organise one given current circumstances. Has anyone got a better insight that could shed further light on that situation?

I'd like to see nations like Jamaica, Nigeria and Lebanon given the opportunity to take on the stronger European nations (excluding England) more regularly. Maybe one of the years in a WC cycle could accommodate a tournament involving France, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Italy/Greece plus the 3 nations mentioned above.

I wish Jamaica well, genuinely, but I will be supporting Ireland here for sure.

Romeo Monteith deserves some sort of award though for being a RL legend, his enthusiasm is fantastic.

Why is that now? A good run for Jamaica could do wonders for the sport there.

Something like this would be there strongest possible line up. The squad has a lot of wingers and is a bit light on front rowers. Will be relying on their league 1 forwards I think

  1. Ashton Golding (Huddersfield)
  2. Ben Jones-Bishop (York City Knights)
  3. Jordan Turner (Castleford Tigers)
  4. Jacob Ogden (London Broncos)
  5. Dom Young (Newcastle Knights)
  6. James Woodburn-Hall (Halifax)
  7. Izaac Farrell (Sheffield Eagles)
  8. Jon Magrin (Dewsbury Rams)
  9. Lloyd White (Toulouse Olympique)
  10. Jordan Andrade (Hunslet Hawks)
  11. Joel Farrell (Sheffield Eagles)
  12. Luis Johnson (Hull Kingston Rovers)
  13. Michael Lawrence (Huddersfield Giants)
  14. Ross Peltier (Doncaster)
  15. Keenen Tomlinson (Dewsbury Rams)
  16. Lamont Bryan (London Skolars)
  17. Omari Caro (London Skolars)
  18. Greg Johnson (Batley Bulldogs)
