Good luck to them. If the NRL has its way they will be able to have this one.

NRL probably already drafting a proposal that the Australians get fast tracked and only fly over for the semi finals stage, to take place 2 weeks after the NRL GF, with their opponents playing their Quater Final the day before. Otherwise, the integrity of the NRL Christmas party will be severely imperilled.

Not sure anywhere else is going for it so surely the RLWC is ‘coming home’.

Indeed, MoK!  Apparently, the first rugby world cup, in France in 1954, only went ahead after the Aussies received assurances about their travel costs being met by the hosts.  Perhaps they will try this again this year and also in 2025, in which case we English speakers have a phrase for it - 'deja vu'!

Fantastic news. Agree with the post above that it’s maybe 4 years too early but it’s great to see a ‘new’ place bid for it to stop the Aus/Eng cycle.

Harry Jepson Winners 2008

RLC Midlands Premier Champions 2006 & 2008

East Midlands Challenge Cup Winners 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008

It might be perfect timing in regards to getting government support. Let's hope so.

Great news but we would have to ensure that France wouldn't be embarrassed by a strong qualifying group and failed to qualify.

Easy, put them in a group with the Aussies and schedule the game for mid-November. Vingt quatre - zéro
