Best of luck Phil. Looking forward to live music coming back.

I think the Wedding Present are touring in 2022 so it doesn't qualify for this thread, but the legend David Gedge just turned 60 which made me feel a bit weird.

The Wedding Present are one of my all time favourite bands, last time i saw them was December 2019 i think. I know they’re playing at the Ritz manchester later this year(if it hasn’t been cancelled). They’re a band i never get bored of listening to.

OMG, is The Ritz still going? I used to frequent a club called Ritz in the 1980's. It can't be the same.

If someone asked me to pick my favourite Wedding Present song i don’t think i could do it.

A great live band and they’re playing at Holmfirth Picturedrome  my favourite small venue. August 24th.

I’ve decided not to go, everything being open and a small packed hall. A bit too soon for me.

Band I play in had only one gig booked for this year, in September. Got cancelled today (well, postponed to June next year). The feller's whose party it was reckons it's not going to be a good idea to have a mixed age group dancing indoors in September. Unfortunately, I think he's probably done the right thing.

HMHB are my joint favourite band with The Wedding Present, but British Sea Power, The Lovely Eggs, Yo La Tengo, are not far behind. I was very fortunate that “a mate of a mate”, knew Nigel Blackwell, so i gave him all my cd sleeves, and some vinyl LP sleeves, and a HMHB gig poster(i didn’t want to push my luck too much) to my mate. He then got them all signed, although my gig poster came back a bit battered but i wasn’t going to complain.

If i go and watch a band it’s small venues only for me. The Deaf Institute - Manchester, “Ritz - Manchester”, “Liverpool Arts Club” “Liverpool Academy” are the type of venues i’ll only go to. I don’t see the point in paying to see someone in a huge venue and you’re just looking at a dot.

Moose, “Moose” were a decent shoe-gazing band as well. The single “Suzanne” they did is a brilliant record.

I thought Moose that’s why you might’ve picked the name Moose because of them ?.

It was the nickname of Alan Preece, Hunslet centre from the late 50’s early 60’s. He was a hard, direct running player, probably why the fans called him Moose.

I’m sorry this isn’t a gig but i didn’t know were to put it, but for the millions of Half Man Half Biscuit fan’s out there………Ok for the handful of HMHB fans out there, they are on Andy Kershaw’s latest podcast “Andy Kershaw Play’s Some Bloody Great Record’s”.
They chatted in AK kitchen and they played a few tunes, it’s well worth a listen.

Is that the tiny little Nora Batty place? I visited there and its tiny - can't imagine there being a gig venue??

Dewsbury train station this Sunday - the platform next to the west riding pub -4pm- be there or be square

A few years since I was in the West Riding pub, a proper pub, great records on the Juke Box plus real ale.

Unfortunately Sunday clashes with Hunslet v Coventry.
