I couldn’t even name any of their songs Phil. I’ve heard them mentioned and i must’ve heard some of their music year’s ago, but i must’ve thought “nah they’re not my scene”.
I am really fussy when it comes to music, and that’s probably why out of all the people i know only one person likes some (not all) of the bands i like. Which means in turn it is a battle to get anyone to go the gigs with me. My wife used to go with me, but i think that’s probably the reason we split 😆. I was in to the “Sultans Of Ping F.C.” whilst she would sooner listen to Steps, and others would get everyone on the dance floor at a party.

I'm off to my first gig tonight since before the lockdown.

Gigs are the thing I've missed the most during the whole covid situation.

Gonna be blowing away the cobwebs with a triple bill of UK Thash Metal bands at The York in Bolton. Can't wait!

I went to the 3 days of Neighbourhood Weekender last weekend and man was it good to be back among crowds, having a beer and a sing in the sun with frie ds and family. Saw some great acts, the Vistas, Pigeon detectives, Circa Waves,  plus James, Gerry Cinnamon and Paul Heaton who we specifically went to see.

Unfortunately I've then been ill all week since. Covid tests come back negative, but been wiped out with some virus, along with a cough which I never ever get.

Providing this is now clearing up, it was worth it!

Is Paul Heaton from Sheffield or Hull ?. I like Mr Heaton’s values.

The Vistas, and the Circa Waves are they worth a listen Dave as ive never heard them before. If they could be put into a genre what would it be ?.

Crass and Steve Ignorant are playing at Club Academy in Manchester Friday 22nd April next year. I’d love to go and see that, but i think it might clash with a Saints game so that would mean id have too miss out, unless we’re playing some random club like Wigan or Wire.

Born in the North West before moving to Sheffield as a kid. Formed the House Martins in Hull so always had a link with there and last I knew he is based in Salford nowadays, but could be wrong.

Big fan of Paul Heaton, seen him many times over the last 25 to 30 years.

Vistas are indie rock, but it blew me away how catchy and full of life they were. Maybe verging on punk. I got a bit bored with the likes of Shed Seven, Sam Fender etc. and these just blew me away. Absolutely electric live.

Circa Waves were just a bit more of a traditional indie band, but I'd never heard much of their stuff and I found them pretty polished and clearly good at what they do, they did a good job on the main stage in front of a huge crowd.

We're going to that.

One of the supports are well worth checking out if you are not already familiar with them - Headsticks.

not sure if this will earn me a ban from the mods or not but ... here goes!

Shot my first gig back after Covid this weekend. Open Air even featuring Craig David. To be fair to him he put on a show and , judging by the female screams, has still got "it".

Will post pics on the appropriate forum as & when allowed
