Superb news.

Let's hope we can put the uncertainty behind us and the sport can deliver the biggest and best men's, women's and wheelchair Rugby League World Cup ever.

All the people that have worked to get us to this point should be applauded and I would hope that the whole sport gets behind it as a successful World Cup is literally in everyone's best interests.

Good , now we just need the players to come

I am sure there will be a few exceptions but I don't believe persuading the players is the biggest problem we face.

Sportspeople are inherently competitive and they want to prove themselves on the biggest stages.  I am sure that the current crop of Kiwis and Kangaroos will want to join some of the legends of the game and achieve the status of World Cup winner.  And I am sure that many of the other nations players will be delighted to represent their countries at a World Cup.

The clubs may see the tournament as a chore but I don't think the players will.

Great news. The original and best Rugby World Cup is alive and well. :kolobok_biggrin:

great, the negativity of the people here is amazing

very few positive comments

already doubts, cynicism, sarcasm and so on

Other than your post there was 1 negative post with the rest being positive. Try not using a Union calculator as you’ll find it more accurate

This is not the only thread about the RWC, though.

Thank God for that. I've spent nearly 500 quid on tickets.

If I got a refund I probably would have wasted it.😁

Yep like you spent a few quid on tickets & looks like the hotels in Newcastle are up to date on the World Cup going ahead with a quick look prices very steep to other times i have visited Newcastle, so if its official tomorrow will start hunting around for accommodation.

Thank goodness.

I don’t think I’d ever have forgiven the Aussies if they’d have pulled out. You’d think after living in an open prison for nearly two years that the players will love a trip abroad!

They still might still pull out, I wouldn’t put it past them, and Australian’s have faced very little restrictions over the last 15 months, other than been unable to fly in and out of the country freely. Compared to what we’ve had, months of no socialising and over a year without attending a game, I know which I’d prefer.

So have I but as I live in Australia I won’t be allowed to travel. I hope they will provide refunds for Australian based ticket purchasers

The RLWC press department wouldn't release this unless every nation have signed would they?

The Rugby League World Cup will take place as scheduled in England this autumn after participation agreements were signed by competing nations.
