I have literally never heard of ASUS,

Just out of interest what home machine are you using?  Last year I considered ASUS but there were no deals via our sponsorship link so I opted to stick with HP.  It's all Dell at work.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.

Same not a clue who they are apart from being on Wakefield’s shirt

Job done then by RL/Wakefield involvement.  You are both now aware. 👍

Apple Mac mate and for I know that could be linked to Asus, Asos or Asda…I know only it is an Apple Mac. Btw I am 100% not knocking Wakey or the company involved.

I got an Asus for Uni before they sponsored Wakey, considered taking it back then!

Where have you seen images? The site suggests a release date of 10.12.21?

We might be at cross purposes. I haven`t seen any images. That was the point.

They went back to the classic Swinton jersey this year. So inevitably there`s a deep dread something utterly monstrous might be just around the corner. That`s the pattern with most clubs nowadays. They alternate between tradition and affront to tradition.

And the most odious affront I can remember was the blue and white vertical stripes Soccer shirt in the early 90s. I wouldn`t use that to scrub the floor.

I just use my work laptop, which is Dell, I most other stuff on my phone. It’s lucky I looked ASUS up because I wouldn’t have known why you were asking otherwise.

Well it’s more due to the ignorance of a know it all on this forum, but without that you’re right I wouldn’t be considering ASUS in the unlikely event that I ever buy myself a laptop.

Yep call me a Neanderthal but I’ve never heard of Asus either (a Mac user here). A quick google and their laptops are everywhere.

I guess this comes down to a previous poster’s point - it is likely good value for money in simply raising a basic awareness. I had heard of/seen the name Asus purely because of the Wakey/RL sponsorship. If I needed a PC laptop (and might do soon for my boy) then popping into/online to Curry’s etc it’s the first name that would have jumped out.

You don’t necessarily need to know exactly what a company do but raising subtle awareness of a name/logo is one of the key point of branding and sponsorship.

To be fair Asus are huge and Wakefield have done very well to get such a sponsor on board. I don't even really think of Asus much when it comes to general PC's and Laptops, although my laptop is an Asus. They do a lot of high end stuff like gaming machines, graphics cards (I have an Asus), motherboards (I built my workstation with an Asus MB), routers (I have an Asus there too), monitors and the like. Come to think of it I have quite a bit of Asus kit.

I know exactly how you feel.  I refuse to use mend-a-hose at work or recommend it to visiting HGV drivers in need.
